Has anyone ever seen this happen?

A few minutes ago, I hit the phone button, I believe. I was using PalmPDF.

The screen went all white, in the middle of the screen, in a simple, small black font, it said: "Expired". Then, in the bottom right corner of the white screen, also in a small black font, it counted down in seconds from 15 to 1, then the treo did a soft reset.

    Anyone see this phenomenon before?

Yes, but not from PalmPDF?! I've seen this from Agendus I THINK, and a few others. It's probably people using the same trial method. As for why it does a soft reset, I don't know, and it's annoying when it happens.

I could be totally off, but yes I've seen this at least a few times.

I am also running the Datebk6 beta but only for a week. Interesting. Was a scary phenomenon. thought I was witnessing the first palm virus!

I think I finally figured this out.. Took me 5 minutes to find this thread, but..

CrashPro! I was running something that was acting flakey on me the other day, so it crashed, booted back up. Checked CrashPro to see what crashed. Few minutes later, crashed again and I got the white Expired countdown screen. So I let it do its thing, checked CrashPro to see what crashed, and it said it was unregistered!

I suspect what's happening is that if CrashPro loses its registration key (it's not in saved/unsaved prefs.. not sure where it is) and a crash happens, instead of Crash doing its thing it just shows this white "Expired" screen.

    You guys using CrashPro too?
