Hi I had a customer ask me the other day how to delete unwanted contacts that were in her SMS pull down. her exact problem was she had sent some Text messages to incorrect numbers and wanted to remove them from the pull down menu when she enters the riecipients number. I had never tried to do this so I looked over her treo 650 as well as my own trying to find an option to no avail. I told her I would contact a few forums I frequent and see if the collective knowledge would have a tip or trick for this, and to call me back in acouple days.

this is for a Cingular locked treo 650 if that makes any difference.

Use a file manager, like FileZ, to delete the "SMS Quicklist" file.
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

Did you try purging all SMS messages?

did you try sending to alot of people? i'm not sure what you mean by quicklist, but when i press new i only have about 11? entries and a lookup in contacts in the top of mine. If i send to new people those in the bottom disappear.

Just in case any 700p owners are watching, those with the Sprint 700p would delete the "AddressingLibRecent" file instead.
