I've been using the trial version of Chatter as my email program, but I've run into one slight problem.

The thing is, my trial just ran out and I currently dont have the money in order to register it. That leaves me with the default mail program (Mail v. 1.02a). I dont mind using this cuz its better than nothing, but I can't figure out how to set it up to receive AOL mail. Is it even possible? I've looked through past posts, but I can't find the answer anywhere.

I see things for Versamail, Snapper, and Chatter, but nothing about the default client thats on my 600.

    HELP!

I dont think you understand what I'm saying.

I dont have the money to register or purchase new software right now, whether its chatter, snapper, or versamail.

The default mail app is free which is why i wanted to know whether it was possible to set up AOL mail on it.

Do a Google search for "AOL Open Mail". There are instructions on how to access AOL mail via 3rd party programs such as Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc. These instructions should serve as a guide to setting up AOL mail on your phone.

Perhaps less money spent on blingage, would give you more money for Chatter.

For AOL, you have to setup IMAP settings using versamail:

AOL Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) - imap.aol.com (port 143)

AOL Outgoing Mail Server - smtp.aol.com or use your local ISP SMTP mail server

I believe the above settings should work...

Whatever. Call me broke and lazy but you try working full time and taking 15 hours of classes at the same time and having to pay all my bills.

I dont have versamail on my 600, just chatter and the default mail client. I've looked online for a versamail trial but there's none available

Ahh...ok. Well try the pop3 settings for AOL in the link below then:

I would advise saving up for chattermail though. It's the best overall email client for the treo imo...

I have used Snapper, VersaMail, and Chatter email clients. By far ChatterMail is the best. It is much more stable than the others, and gives true BB experence (if that is important to you).

    LOL

So, who is the other person that voted for VersaMail?
Actually, my vote doesn't count. I have never tried the other two. Since VersaMail does what I want it to do and has never given me much trouble (had to recreate an account once), I have never had the urge to shop around.

    Cheers, Perry.

I access both my corporate email and Yahoo email via Blazer and don't use a resident email client at all - works great for me.
