RingerSwitch for Treo 600/650 can give you an attention when the Treo Ringer Switch turns to off. This application can remind you that your Treo smartphone is muted by using an blinking attention icon and more.

I've been using the free version of v1.3.3 for a while now. Can anyone else confirm that v1.4 is unstable?

I ran into the same thing as did chckhbrt: I disabled RS, unchecked "Enable after reset", deleted it via the delivered app launcher's App/Delete Menu and installed the new version. This put my Treo into an endless hard reset loop; I had to perform a warm reset, delete v1.4 and restore the old version.

OK, it installs and I can launch it with out an endless loop, but only after I followed these steps: disable v.1.3.1 , uncheck Enable after reset, perform a soft reset, delete v1.3.1 via the delivered app launcher's App/Delete menu, perform a soft reset...then install v1.4.1.

That's the only way I could get it to work too. I forgot the second soft reset the first time and had to recover from the endless loop. No big deal with Resco Backup though

Well I never installed v1.3.1 because I had read reviews that it threw Treos into an endless reset loop.

So I figured that the developer would read the reviews of v1.3.1and fix the problem with the release of v1.4. So I did a clean install of v1.4 via hotsync followed by a softreset of my T650 and it blew up my Treo.

Well the problem was apparently never addressed in v1.4. Now Tenchi-man says he finally fixed the endless reset loop problem in V1.4.1.

I think I'll wait a long time before I try this software again.

    Thanks guys for using RingerSwitch!

It is true that I got some reports about the reset looping issue on some Treo 600/650 in the past. However, there's also a lot of people using RingerSwitch Basic without any problem and many RingerSwitch Pro (trial available now) copies were sold. As the results are not consistant, I have tried my best to improve on every version.

To be honestly, I never experience endless reset loop on the released version by following the installation steps in the Readme file. I guess the reset problem is caused by 3rd party software (fixed some compatibility issues in the past) or SDK bugs (Just got some ideas on developer forum and I have removed/replaced all known 'possible' coding in version 1.4.1)

Actually, every released version were tested by a number of beta testers and on my own Treo 650 (RingerSwitch was designed for my own use) to make sure it is functionable.

For the RingerSwitch 1.4/1.4.1 upgrade, I don't need to soft reset my Treo before install. Strange! Thanks Bill Gamble and aldamon, I shall update the Readme file to make sure the upgrade is smooth on some Treo.

    Thanks again

I'm running 1.3.1 with absolutely no problems at all. I'll try 1.4.1 sometime soon.

I'm out of my mind. But feel free to leave a message.

The basic version drain battery very fast. I found it after more than one month use and did't find the reason until I disable the ringerswitch.

Also, the free version can be very small since it only does one thing. It doesn't need an interface or options, you can also omit the icon and make it hidden in the launcher. Autohide is a good example.
