I'm searching around the net for headphones that will go with my Treo 650 so I can listen to mp3s with it so i wont have to lug another mp3 player. I found this:
    http://shop.treonauts.com/content/ac.../73-75--84.htm

and it's EXCATLY what i need since if it has headphone itself i can't use my own. Which i do since i also have another gaget that listens to am/fm radio.

But the thing is this the site said this thing only works with Treo 600 but i'm wondering if anyone here bought this and tried it on Treo 650 and found out for themselves if it really works or not?

another question i have is this little thing...
    http://shop.treonauts.com/content/ac.../73-75--13.htm
Will give you stereo when you use it with a stereo headset?
Because i understand that the stereo feature on Treo 650 won't turn on if the electrical resistance of the headphone is too low. Will this thing give me stereo?

There is a redesigned version of the 2-in-1 adapter for a Treo 650. You can purchase it directly from the manufacturer Seidio or from vendors like Treonauts and Treo Central. I use this retractable adapter with a pair of Sony Fontopia headphones. I also have the Seidio non-2-in-1 adapter which also works well. Both give you stereo sound.

    New 2-in-1 adapter

    Audio Adapter 2.5 to 3.5

If you're looking for a less expensive 2-in-1 adapter, try doing a search here on the words "Insten" and "adapter". There is an eBay vendor which sells these for a very reasonable price. I bought a few since prices were so low. The adapters work, though they do not come in a retractable version.

BTW - Beware of the small right angle adapter that is featured in your second link. That is a very heavy and rigid piece that may put too much strain on your headphone jack. A broken jack is a very common problem with Treo 650s.

hhah thanks jack, but i think that might be an overkill. I'm looking for some thing more low profile and not 'giant thing wore on head' but that's a good find.

    Thanks for the info guys

I've been using the Insten for around three months now. It's solidly built (not cheap feeling) and the sound quality is pretty good when you couple it with some decent headphones.

As for Seidio, they overcharge for their items. Many of their items don't last too long either. I've gone through three of their 2400mAh batteries because of overheating problems they cause with my 650.

The item in your second link is the product I was talking about. Despite the low price, it seems to work fine with the Treo 650 and a pair of regular Sony headphones. The only drawback is the lack of a retractable feature, though some may see that as an advantage since it doesn't weigh as much without the retracting mechanism.

I happen to like the retractable feature, so I mainly use the Seidio version. However, I'm not sure that the retractable feature makes it worth $30 more than the Insten version. You'll have to decide for yourself what features you're willing to pay for.
