A: Most mono headsets do not provide A2DP profile which is required by Audio Gateway. Such headsets use SCO chanels to stream audio (BT Headset / HandsFree 1.x profile) only. Currently this profile and channels are not supported by our product. We will try to add this capability in the future version if this is possible.
Thanks Ap, but my question was directed at Arseniy. I was wondering if it was possible, or how difficult it would be for Softick to add it.

As many have suggested, SAG used up quite a bit of resources of T650, and any other operations, such as switching programs or web browsing, will cause the music to stutter. Anyone actually doesn't have this problem? Has anyone asked the SAG support team, and if yes, what is their answer?

What does the meaing of the testing function provided by SAG? I get a figure between 5 to 6000 for Itech S35. What about other headsets?

FYI, you can find a list of bt stereo headsets by itech here:
    http://www.itechdynamic.com/product.asp

Has anyone tried S38 and R35? I wonder would these be better. Anyone knows?

    Thanks in advance
I use the same setup and don't get any stuttering. No dropouts unless I go out of range.

Try setting on medium quality and disable mixer, resampler and filter and see if that helps.

I hope it's possible. We are investigating how to implement this. And I think our A2DP experience will be helpful Especially because Softick Audio Gateway is much more then just A2DP profile implementation (from the developer's point of view)

If this all works the way it should and they get the bugs out, I seriously will not need a new phone for years! This combined with the fat32 support?!?!?! fegggeeddaboutit
(I have no need for EVDO)
A2DP was high on my wishlist too

If this works like its supposed to.. I don't know if EV-DO will be enough to make me jump on the 700p boat either... I will be content for awhile.

I can't say anything about BT420RX, we have neither tested this model, nor received any feedback. But I've read specification and I think it should work with Softick Audio Gateway. And they probably will work even better than BT420EX (I hope so)

    Have you guys tried this:

Softick Audio Gateway is the first Bluetooth audio streaming solution for Palm OS handhelds which allows to connect Palm OS handheld to the Bluetooth stereo headphones and listen to digital audio played by Palm OS applications:

    MP3 Players,
    Audio book readers,
    Games.
Softick Audio Gateway can operate with any Bluetooth audio device which supports Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) designed to transfer a high-quality stereo audio stream wirelessly.

Softick Audio Gateway captures digital audio from Palm OS audio subsystem and redirects it to the Bluetooth A2DP device:

Bluetooth stereo headphones or bluetooth stereo headsets
Desktop PC with a2dp drivers installed
    Bluetooth stereo car kit
    A2DP Speakers.
Currently we have tested our Bluetooth Audio Gateway with:

    Plantronics Pulsar 590A Headset
    Bluetake i-Phone BT420EX Bluetooth Hi-Fi Sports Headphone
iPAQ Bluetooth Stereo Headphones (made by Logitech)
    Bluetake A2DP enable PC dongle

    http://www.softick.com/bluetooth-audio/

Sounds like something Jeff Kirvin was looking for.

aprasad are u content with the bluetake headphones talking listening to music? how is the sound quality on the speakers itself does the bass thump i just wanna compare the speakers if they sound for instance like the ipod ear speakers
  14.    #234
I do not like the BT420EX's call handling capabilities. After a soft reset, it takes multiple attempts (with the button on the headset) to get it to pick up the call. I have to answer the call on the Treo and keep trying to transfer it to the headset.

Once this occurs, the headset behaves well. It rings in the headset, picks up calls, hangs up etc. Until the next soft reset.

The headset is fine for pure music use. The sound is good. Ptunes does not resume after the end of the call, but that could be ptunes or SAG's fault as well. Even voice call handling could be Palm's fault .. Who knows.

Summary: BT420EX was one of the first such products. It's technology implementation is not perfect. I expect later models to do better. Besides, BT420EX deos not support AVRCP.

I would buy one of their later products like BT450RX instead of BT420EX.

    whats the difference between them?

the dif is the rx is a newer model and supports avrcp and arseiny said it might even work better than the bt420ex but still noone has tested it I hope I'm the first and give a good review " I wanna make my contribution "

went to radioshack & picked up a pair of Motorola HT820's seen them cheaper on-line, but I've been waiting for this s/w for so long I couldn't wait any longer...

pTunes... plays my mp3's, wma, ogg, and streaming files fine... the only time I experienced stuttering is when using the treo, if its just sitting idle no problems at all

Real Player... results same as above

Pic & Videos(sprint) audio is really distorted, & unuseable... I dont use this app anyway

TCPMP plays mp3s fine.... wont play my divx encoded movies, but will play my 3gp encoded movies....

    *edit* more feedback
    The good:
-manual claims 14hrs music, and 17hrs talk (will put this to the test tomorrow)

-charger is a mini usb plug (cheap/widely avaible)

-comes with a audio cable so u can go wired if your battery dies (haven't tested to see if phone functions work with the wire)

-comes with nice lil carrying pouch

-fit snug (worked out for an hour never once did they feel like they were gonna fall off)

    The bad:
-has trouble handing off from music to phonecalls & vice versa, but it seems like all of the headsets mentioned in this thread do also..

-look big on my ears lol, they don't feel big while wearing them, but look kinda funny

bottomline: until someone reports perfect results with another brand I would definitely recommend the moto's

*I will be puchasing the s/w it's definitely worth $20 even with the few glitches

[QUOTE=aprasad]Interesting observation: The readme file says that this product uses YAHM libraries. My Treo does not have YAHM (to my knowledge). The SAG install is just a prc file.

Where is YAHM on my system?

    [QUOTE]

    Aprasad,

If I'm not mistaken, YAHM is a hack manager that is Treo (OS5) compatible. That's the only place I've ever heard of it before.
