I am using TinyStocks Stock Manager on my Prism. I really like the
program, but the Mac conduit seems unable to properly import chart data
in my case. I can import from 1/1/00, but no other date! I want to
import from 8/1/00 so that I have 6 months of data, the limit of the
program. I have attached my messages to the author from his Bug Forum.

Thanks for any assistance.

Import historical chart data with Mac conduit

I was able to import historical chart data with the Mac conduit, but I
chose a year previous and only got the first 6 months. I then switched
to 6 months previous, but now I can't get any data after several
retries.

Thanks,
Ken

I dont make up the data, it is fetched from Yahoo. Go to
finance.yahoo.com, historical section and see what data is available
for the stock you are trying to update.

The data for charts is there for all stocks in my portfolio. As I
mentioned in my post, it did work previously. Yahoo has the data after
conduit updates that don't work.

Thanks,
Ken

I have discovered that if I use a starting date of 1/1/2000, the import
chart data will work (although I can only view 1/12000-6/30/2000 in
Stock Manager). If i use a starting date of 7/1/2000, I get no chart
data! I also notice that each time I reopen the conduit setting panel,
the date is reset to some arbitrary date, sometimes in 2001, but I'm
not sure that this is the date that the Hotsync is utilizing.

Hope this helps,
Ken

I have tried this many times and cannot make it fail. The Mac conduit
works as advertised.

Importing from 1/1/2000 works fine and so does importing from 7/1/2000
and any other date for that matter.

When going into the conduit setting panel: if there is no import of
chart data selected the date displayed is today's date otherwise it is
the date selected for the import of data.

If you require further support you will have to email to
support@tinystocks.com at least the following:
- Mac OS version, Mac model
- Palm desktop version
- Stock Manager version on the Palm and conduit
- Hotsync log after a chart import
- the files StockMgrDB.pdb and StockGraphDB.pdb
- Screenshots of the weird dates in the conduit
- Description of which chart data is wrong (or in the future).
- and anything else you can think of.

Since I cannot reproduce this problem I am treating it as a local
problem.

Regards

Chris

Chris,

I noticed that you have a version 3.01. My version says 3.0 on the Palm
and the Macintosh. When I download the new version, it sill says 3.0.
Am I using the wrong version?

Thanks,
Ken

The Palm should say 3.01, the mac conduit will still say 3.0.
