i updated to the 1.20-LAP version firmware then i noticed that using
any philippine simcard as receiving the sms and using globe/sun
cellular as the transmitting simcard, their messages are time-tagged
7 hours ahead and while using Smart Telecom simcard it is the correct
time. i downgraded and upgraded using 1.20-ENA and still i got the
same results. anything that can help me on this one? i really want
to upgrade to 1.20-LAP but i can't and i won't because of the
    problem.

    Hi cdboy.

No. There does not appear to be any solution to this problem at all. I live in Australia, and have upgraded through all alternative methods : official ENA, LAP, custom ROM's etc etc. Some kind folk here even experimented with puttin gthe old SMS apps in the new ROMs, but they would not work.

It appears its a bug in the new ROM that affects certiain people in the Asia Pacific region. I contacted Palm about it (as have others) and the response was that its a known bug and they are "working on it". But as the chance of another ROM update for the end-of-cycle 650 is about 0%, I wouldnt hold your breath.

If you want more background info on my or other people's SMS problem, do a search for 'timestamp' or for posts by myself.

I have just had to learn to live wtih it : if its vital to know the exact time of a missed sms, then you have to subtract the set amount of hours from the timestamp.

Either that or revert to the old ROMs (but I found them way too buggy : eg flashing the screen on and off repeatedly at 2am everynight waking me up !!).
