with shipping tacked on, it's only a couple of bucks less than ZipZoomFly's card, but hey a couple of bucks is a couple of bucks.
I have heard really bad reports about Adata.

I have a 4G card. Should I bother to try this?
After it did not work, I went to a 2G card which works fine.

Cingular (G) ROM. Only change is to add Fat32. This is meant for those already running 1.17.

Umm... of course I know how to format it correctly! That is not the issue. As stated, I have had terrible experiences with ADATA as have many others I have found while researching online. But ymmv as always...but I personally will never buy that brand again nor would I ever recommend it to anyone else...

THank you vry much. I will need to get my hands on a 4GB card to test this out now though (now I am wondering if I can tweak this by taking out some of the full prc programs and adding some of my own).

WOW! Shadow! WOW! You are the Treo Angel.

A thousand kudos for ya! My baby works like a charm.

    My VFSMark Results are

    Prior to FAT32 driver was

    VFSMark Results

    File Create: 289%
    File Delete: 156%
    File Write: 67%
    File Read: 627%
    File Seek: 621%
    DB Export: 203%
    DB Import: 354%
    Record Access: 724%
    Resource Access: 640%

    VFSMark: 409

Now with the FAT32 installed it reads

    VFSMark Results

    File Create: 338%
    File Delete: 183%
    File Write: 69%
    File Read: 662%
    File Seek: 2950%
    DB Export: 200%
    DB Import: 414%
    Record Access: 1064%
    Resource Access: 1037%

    VFSMark: 769

    Kudos! Kudos! kudos!

This is with Apacer 66X 1GB SD card. I notice while the overall stat is higher DB import and Export rate is slightly reduced. Dunno what is means though. Now my Treo rocks once again...

    Cheers!

Here is the 1.20 LAP Custom ROM for unlocked GSM that I am currently using with Shadow's FAT32.

No Versamail, Real, Tips, Sam and BG files. WorldClock and Calc is intact.

-Unzip to an sd card that does not have Palm or Rom named folders.
-Make sure that you have already upgraded to 1.20 LAP via Palm's hotsync method.
-After a hardreset and plugging your Treo, insert the sd card. Tap on the rom updater icon.
-Type ace and just hard reset when prompted. Good luck! : )

does this improve the speed of existing cards or only if I fromat them as 32 bit?

does it improve memory handling in the phones memory?

Are the SMS, CarrierDB, etc fixes in your ROM?

I didnt incorporate the sms fix as suggested by James. I just install that in ram. Carrier db shouldnt be a problem if you upgrade first via hotsync using Palm's official 1.20 LAP.

Hard reset then hotsync with a different user name (test). Upgrade then restore with that user name. Since its empty, I then use Resco Explorer to delete test hotsync name. You can use another app called ChangeName for this. Restore from your sd backup or hotsync. You should see this under more phone info:

    CC-Cap: LAP-LAP-001
    Carrier DB:255

**Assuming** this is a Windows Platform, go to My computer, right clikc your SD and Click Format.

There should list a FAT32 in the drop down menu

If I format my 1 gig sd to Fat32, will performance increase?

    MFB: unknown?

You can try to run a VFSMark and test it out.

Sayers from this thread list very positive results.

I personally have not ran any benchmarking tests after the ROM update ...
