the clip has a push-button release and the palm comes off of the belt clip. Only thing thats left is the "nipple". Course the belt clip stays on your belt when you take the unit off.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks. I basically would never use the clip and would just keep the phone in soft case in my front pocket so I was hoping that the entire clip mechanism is removable. So this is the case right?

You might want to consider the Vaja case if you do not want a belt clip. It is a bit steep in cost but you can get them with or without the clip. Also if you are looking for an alternative for a leather case, I would suggest the speck products skin tight case. I have had mine since September and I honestly think that it is the best case that I have ever had for a phone. It does not add much bulk to the phone and it fits it like a glove.

I picked up a Bellagio leather case that has no clip at all. It's all leather and very well made. I think I paid about $40 for it at a Palm store at the airport, (Boston I think.)

    Or. here's a link:

It takes a bit of work but it can be done, and you have to know someone who can do GOOD leather repair work.

I have a friend who owns a shoe repair company and he had one of his cobblers unstitch the back, slip the nipple out, fit a piece of smooth leather inside the space where the nipple was held and stitch it back together. You can see where the nipple was because it stretches the leather a bit, but I can live with that, more than I can the stupid nipple. I probably could have purchased a form fit case without a clip, but I got this case with the phone (My company gets a package deal) so I went this route. I like this case because it protects the camera lens which is where my index finger tends to end up when I am holding the phone to my ear.
