I have found one bug on my Treo650 that I think has appeared since the upgrade to 1.20 (LAP).

I prefer my Memos sorted alphabetically. When I go to Options - Preferences in Memo (v 1.2.1) and change the sort to alphabetical, as soon as i click "Yes" to "the current sort order will be lost...", the Treo resets.

    System Error Log shows:

    DataMgr.c, Line:8898
    DmWrite:
    DmWriteCheck failed.

This probably means some corrupted data.

So, I tried deleting the Memo dbs on the Treo650. When they are empty, I can change the sort to alphabetical. But, after a "desktop overrides Palm" hotsync of Memos, once again it resets if I change Manual to Alpha.

I did not see this problem before the update.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Regards
    Peter

Try using DB Scan, you can get it here
    http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/utilities.htm

once you launch DB Scan > choose neither > menu button > Remove All Deleted Records > tap palmsource > ok > ok > ok > menu button > Remove All Deleted Records > tap palm one > ok

    Thanks for the suggestion.

But I thought that DB Scan only looks at Datebook / Calendar records. My problem is in the Memo database.

I tried DB Scan but it did not work. I followed the exact steps but the Memo application still crashes when I try to change the memo sort to alphabetic.

I guess that I will just have to live with manual sort. It is no big deal.

I had this issue a while ago with contacts. this is what I had to do to resolve it.

Make an SD backup to be safe. I used Palm Desktop to solve this.
1- Delete the memo database on the Treo.
2- Create new user in palm desktop.
3- Copy memo files to new user inside Palm desktop.
4- Delete files from current user.
    5- Hotsync with no files.
6- Copy files from temp user to current user.
7- Hotsync with desktop overwrite handheld.
8- Hotsync again normally to test.

I fought with this for several hours and then this solved the issue.
    PalmIII > PalmIIIx > PalmIIIxe > TRGPro > Handera 330 > Zire71 > Treo600 > Treo650 > Treo680 > Treo750 > Centro > TreoPro > iPhone 32GB 3GS

I am having exactly the same issue, although I am using Missing Sync for Mac.

I don't really understand the above instruction, however.

Has anone else solved the issue?

I've had this same issue since I got my 650 last summer. I am using Missing Sync on a Mac and Palm Desktop in XP. When I try to alpha sort memos on the Treo, it resets.
