Great appl btw, perhaps it helps to solve my Treo 650 resets. I still get a few under 1.20 especially when a call comes in. No pattern though so far.

Just a warning to any of you using this on a Sprint Treo700p.

While I was attempting to use the Menu-->Flush DBCache (MemFill) function my Treo crashed/reset and when it came back the Sprint firmware SW revision was corrupted, the HW revision was missing and the Handspring Serial Number (HS SN) was gone. No type of reset (normal, safe, hard, zero-out (with my MSL)) recovered the info. Details posted in this thread.

    That's just my experience... YMMV.

Wonder anyone tried DBCacheTool on the Treo700p.

I just installed MemoryInfo v.1.1 on my Treo 700p and when I hit "Flush DBCache (MemFill) the Treo resets. I tried it twice in a row and still the same result. This isn't the way it is supposed to work is it? Is there a newer version? I have seen more current threads where people are still using this evidently on the 700p. Any input most appreciated. I am using this mainly to prevent resets in Blazer...

    Thanks

    In regards to DBCacheTool:

I have used DBCacheTool for about a couple weeks using the settings described by a poster in TC. I started to see some apps, even though they're launchable, would reset at some point. Examples are Express (when doing 'update'), CJKOS (launch the configuration screen), SplashID (do a search). The only cure I found was to re-install these apps. Note that these problems didn't come up all at once.

I don't have any proof that these hiccups are caused by DBCacheTool. I'm just curious as I no longer have any issues after I turned the 'Auto Clear' to 'OFF'. This might be just my Treo's problem. I just want to share my experience hopefully DBCacheTool works for you all!

For the records, my unit is a Verizon Treo 700p.

Clearing dbache is a dangerous thing... Some programs simply do NOT like it. And the MemoryInfo tool caused nothing but NASTY crashes for me.

I sometimes use the dbcachetool (da, but it uses the main dbcache tool) to view dbcache, but it seems that rarely doing a clear actually does anything useful, and a LOT of times it makes the dbcache smaller.

I thought the dbcache on the 700p was a non-issue.. That sucks.

I'm not sure how I missed this post, but I did. Forutunately, when I flushed cache (Flush DBCache (Memfill)) on my 700p these things did not happen, but it did soft reset the Treo a couple of times. I won't be using that function again any time soon.

    Thanks for the warning.

I have had no problems using this application other than on occasion loosing database files in the DB cache. I use OnGuard/Restore and it is used to restore those lost database files.

No resets at all using it on a Sprint Treo 650 & 700p.

I use this every morning after Backupman runs at 4am to clear out my cache before I get a crash when I try and use Chatter. Works like a charm. I wonder.. Is there any way to run this automatically after my backup is complete?

the newest version of rescobackup has an option to "reset/clear dbcache after backup" , I use it with no problems,.

Resco Backup does very well; I switched to it from BackupManager.

So "reset/clear dbcache after backup" on Resco will do basically the same same thing as MemoryInfo?
    thanks,

    Very good app!

Works like a charm on my Treo 650!

    Congratulations!

Thanks for the tip on locking Zlauncher for DB corruption. This has happend to me way to often... I usualy have to do a restore of the Zlauncher DB from a backup.. Let's see if this reduces the problem of "Lost catagories"

    Thanks

I do not have ZLauncher locked - and also since using the latest beta of Preference Doctor, the beta that watched the db cache - I have had no need or desire to mess with the db cache. Ben

Thanks for this info and file. It helped fix the problem that I have with my Treo 650 TomTom 6 Navigator memory problem. Often when trying to launch my TT6 software I get a error message that says "Not enough free db cache memory to run this application". Installing and running this application seems to have fixed my problem so I no longer have to take my palm out of its boot, remove the back cover, then hit the soft reset button. Thanks!

Welcome to the Palm Memory Survivor's Club. Not sure if you've seen it before, but this T|C wiki article may provide more background info on what is happening.

There is another app called OffFlush which you might find useful. Since it'll do a dbCache flush (if needed) when you hit the red power button, it helps keep the cache free which should allow TomTom to start up more reliably.
    Palm Pilot-->Handspring Visor-->Treo 300-->Treo 600-->Treo 650-->Treo 700p+E62-->Treo700p+Curve (8300)-->Curve (8330)

Whenever my TomTom says this, my only resource is to reset.. Even clearing cache doesn't seem to help.

You might install mReset, at least you can reset without pulling the cover.

This does absolutely nothing for my 650. After ptunes, it was impossible to run SNES games on LJP. After a clear, same, and it shows no change in the dialog.

    Off flush, however, worked perfectly!
