A friend of mine who has a 650 told me that if the battery is fully drained, that all of your data is erased. Is this true? Don't see how it would but I just wanted to make sure.

That is false. The data is saved to non-volatile memory.

    Thanks folks.

He said it happened to him once but maybe it was just a freak occurrence. No need to call people idiots.

That is interesting, that they have had it happen. I suspect something else happened at the same time to cause the loss of data. Has their unit been trouble free since?

When I change the battery on my treo 650 everything is the same afterwards except vindigo dissappears and only reappears (unaltered) after a hotsync.
