okay, after all that the problem was deceptively simple: Show on Connect is a registered version feature

no bugs seem to be occurring.

Sharkboy, is there a newer version past 2.2? I have the registered version, and it works sometimes, and other times it does not. I will ignore a call and sometimes it will pop up and sometimes it won't. I've never gotten the v-mail feature to work. Also, if you have a soft-reset, do you have to go and uncheck, then re-check "enabled"?

[This is reposted here from ludustech.com forums]

Just wanted to point out some problems that hamper LudusW functioning.

    Scenario 1:

As reported by another user in these forums, if the number is not
EXACTLY as reported by the caller ID, then nothing will happen.

Example, if I have a number stored along with international code
"+91 98765 43210" and the Caller ID reports "09876543210" then
the window will not pop up. Have no clue how Palm (and other cell
phones too) do the match as they work reliably.

    Scenario 2:

    1) I get a call and accept it, talk and end the call properly.
    2) The LudusW window DOES NOT popup for the NEXT IGNORED call.
    3) LudusW functions properly for subsequent calls.

I'll add that the above behaviour is REPEATABLE; happens every time.

My suspicion is that the combination of the above two bugs (AND may
be a couple more) is resulting in users inferring that the behaviour is
    erratic.

    Request for enhancements:

    1) Wildcards for telephone numbers in Exceptions and Default action(s)
    2) SMS even for missed calls.

    Regards,

    Vinodh Kumar M.

I should mention that the above behaviour "cycles"
meaning, any time you accept a call, the NEXT call
is ignored by LudusW. I have ver 2.2 downloaded
    from ludustech.com.

    - the following lines for accept and terminate call

    GSM
    EventType: 40
    EventType: 8
    EventType: 10
    EventType: 24
    EventType: 24
    EventType: 14
    EventType: 2
    EventType: 12

    - the following 4 lines for first call after accepted
    call (NO pop-up, NO SMS)

    EventType: 40
    EventType: 8
    EventType: 10
    EventType: 13

    - the following lines for second call after accepted
    call (LudusW pop-up window)

    EventType: 40
    EventType: 8
    EventType: 10
    EventType: 13
    [3/9/06 8:49:13] Manual to

    - Other lines in log...

I have just inserted my comments in the above,
but the lines are intact and in the correct
    sequence.

    THANKS

did you get a chance to check out the pref. (of ludusw) being lost after a reset. (i.e. if i set it to manual mobile, after a reset it is at manual all. plus i have to uncheck then check enable for it to function properly) other than that its great

    franko,
Note to others on this forum: this "private" version got rid
of the bug. Did any of the others face the same problem?
Just curious. I think that it all will be fixed in the next
    official release of LudusW.

Finally I have a usable LudusW program.

    Now on to other issues.

    Enhancements:

    1) SMS even if caller terminates (configurable)
I simply must have this feature, please...

Proper handling of native "missed call" pop-up. Idea is
to send an SMS as to why the call is not taken.

All three conditions (Receiver Terminates, Caller Terminates
and Either) configurable for individual numbers (exceptions).

    2) Wildcards and names in exceptions

    Changes/ Bug Fixes

    3) Fix "Mobile" option in Manual and AutoSMS to allow
    for world-wide telephone number formats.

    4) Allow correct international<->local phone numbers
    interpretation (ie. +91 98765 43210 <-> 09876543210)
    and handling of the same.

Other than the above, I must say that I'm quiet enjoying
    the LudusW experience!

If u select auto, a SMS is sent when a call is missed. Are you sayin you want a SMS to be sent when in manual mode if a call is missed?

And another quick question, why would you wanna send a SMS to someone who calls and hangs-up before you answer. (just curious, #1 under enhancements)

I don't understand what you have said. As with both Auto and Manual
options (at least with my installation of LudusW) I am required to terminate
the call. If the caller terminates, then nothing happens (#1 of my req.)

Regarding the "native missed call" issue. I had this problem with SharkMsg
where the "Call" window was overlaid by SharkMsg window and the phone
used to keep ringin till the SMS was sent/ cancelled, even after the caller
has terminated the call. I was referring to a proper handling of this issue.

The best solution would be to plug-in LudusW into the "missed call" window
    itself, if that were possible.

    - This has something to do with being "polite" I guess. There are some
people who would find it extremely disrespectful if you "cut" their call.

Personally, I find that it upsets me both ways (somebody doing it to
me and I doing it to someone). I could take the liberty of doing it with
my friends and family, but not think of it with my "boss"

The best course of action would be to let the caller themselves terminate
the call. They would then get the SMS as to the reason why and also
an acknowledgement of their "missed call" - "Call back in 1 hour" etc...

    - The above functionality would also be useful while driving, for example.
Automatic SMSs sent to all callers...

    - Then there is also the fact that sometimes, I would like to give the caller
an impression that I am not near the phone... The message would begin:
"This is an automatically sent out SMS.... blah... blah... etc."
Thin-ice I guess, but there you go!

I'm afraid that the reasons are not any more "technical".

Ludus does send a SMS on missed calls (at least it does for me. In auto mode) Like if im in a movie, i set it to auto, turn off the ringer and everyone who calls gets a message that i will call them back after the movie is done.

And as far as cutting someones call, in auto mode you dont have to cut the call. When the call goes to voicemail a SMS is sent to the caller letting them know why you didnt pick up the call, so you dont have to be rude and can give the impression that you are away from your phone.

I still can figure out why you would want to sent a SMS to a caller who has called you and hungup before they were switched to voicemail
Unless you mean when the phone stops ringing on your end and they are sent to voicemail. if this is the case LudusW does this in auto SMS mode

Also, show the contact's name instead of phone number in the exceptions window.
