Anyone have experience with both HeadsetControl and magicButton with Aeroplayer or PocketTunes?

Overall, which app. do YOU think is "better"? Also, how is battery life with either of these apps. in use?

Thanks for any feedback / insights.

I use headset control, and am fairly happy with it.

I read in one of the threads it had some control capability that magic button didn't... maybe volume?

my biggest concern is that the developer seems to have gone awol since releasing the last version.

on the other hand, the developer of magic button doesn't have a lot of fans here.

my guess is that you'd be happy with headset control.
Less than 400 posts to get my own little treo icon!

Just tried the demos of each and it looks like magicButton does have a little bit more customizability, BUT it can't control Pocket Tune's (the actual app.'s) volume slider control. That doesn't matter anyway since most decent headphone adapters for the Treo have a built in volume dial.

HeadsetControl also works with AeroPlayer and HeadsetControl's developer said in his last email to me that he is working on getting RealPlayer compatibility as well. HeadsetControl's latest beta has some nice new features:

"This one is pretty exciting: Treo™ Voice Dialing support, and headset recognition with the Treo fully asleep. This should resolve battery draining problems and recognize when the headset is plugged in when the Treo is off."

I guess I answered my own question here with a little push from you.

HeadsetControl it is for me then.

    IsLNdbOi,

Thanks for your efforts in looking at both apps. I'm also waiting for My INSTEN adapter to use with MagicButton or HeadsetControl.

Try both. MagicButton doesn't work anymore and I don't know why. I have tried soft reset, hard reset, but no way. (it's not the first time with Toysoft's soft...)
MB is quiet heavy in RAM and has too much possibilities I don't care.
I use HeadsetControl now, and everythings works pretty well.
    But where is whidden ???

Don't pay for HeadSetControl because the guy that wrote it has not responded in months. He has taken the money and run. I still use it but wish he would start developing on it again.

    I have not tried MagicButton.

At least MagicButton's developer responds to emails and questions. HeadsetControl's developer does not.

I've been using HeadsetControl and Pocket Tunes 3 on my Treo 650 with no problem for months. Now I upgraded to Treo700p and Pocket Tunes 4 and now the music skips once in a while. If I disable HeadsetControl it does not skip anymore. Also I noticed that other applications pause for a second or two when the HeadsetControl is enabled. I think it has to do with HeadsetControl running in the background and monitoring the button on the headset.

Does anyone else use HeadsetControl with Pocket Tunes 4 and Treo 700p and have the music skipping problem?

Does anyone have the same problem with Magic Button when used with 700p and PT 4?

Headset Control does not work on my 755p and the guy who wrote it won't reply to emails.

Other than MagicButton, is there any other programs out there that do the same thing these two programs do?

MagicButton does not work to my liking on the 755p.

    Hello,

We would recommend VoicePlayIt. It's the only voice command and control application for pTunes.

Check out your free trial at:

    Thanks,
    The VoiceIt Team!
