Just bought a Plantronics stereo headset with mic support from the Sprint Store.

In tcpmp and in RealPlayer, i'm only getting mono output.

Do I have to buy a Seidio headset to get stereo? Is my 650 broken? Do I need PTunes?

    Please advise.

    Thx.

    -Nick.

Try with a plain stereo headphones. Mine works but I don't use a combo (headphone+mic) set.

Personally I think it's the cheesy jack on the Treo, try pulling the headset jack out a little.

Yeah, which does work. I get stereo sound if I pull it out maybe 1 mm, but it's not nearly as loud. Either way, it's not a solution.

My Seidio headset is the same way, so it's a Treo thing more then a headset thing. Here's a solution

You know, I saw that. I e-mailed them asking them how it outputs down when it leaves the audio jack empty.

    How does it work, specifically?

That'd be nice to have b/c then I can use a decent pair of 'phones that cover my ears completely...

It probably works the same way that the INNODOCK audio output jack works.

I get stereo with RealPlayer and Pocket Tunes when using a Panasonic headphones with the Palm 3.5-to-2.5mm adapter.

I also have an Innodock and get stereo. Therefore the Seidio adapter should also give stereo.
