Acoustically, is there a difference between a 2.5 and a 3.5 jack? Why did Palm choose 2.5, thereby making things so difficult for us users? Does a 3.5 allow for better sound quality and/or clarity? Is the impendance the same?

    Just because.

Some will claim that there is no room on the treo for a 3.5 mm jack. Bull. Even the tiny wafer thin MP3 players now use 3.5 mm jacks.

I just bought a Plantronics stereo headset with mic from the Sprint store. Only get mono out of it unless I pull the jack out maybe 1 mm or so, but then the quality is terrible. Fully plugged in, it's mono, like I said, but sounds really good.

If I buy a stereo Seido model from TC.com, is it guaranteed to be in stereo?
