from March 2005 says that Normsoft will start a commercial "stream your own tunes" service "in a few weeks".

Anyone seen this? I guess this is having some teething problems?

I have been running the beta service from Gloonet itself. Very impressive, and free, for now.

Have not seen the service but I do use the gloonet server and free service. I hate to leave my notebook on and connected all the time though so I am setting up a linux box to serve the data. Now all I need is to get the linux gloonet server to function properly

I don't like to threadcrap, but have you looked at Slimserver? It allows streaming MP3s from a server, does NOT require a service, and is basically a bunch of perl scripts, so it should operate under Linux exactly as it does under Windows or MacOS...... I have it installed on my home file server, and it is AWESOME!! It even downsamples to 64bps, so that I don't suck down all my home network bandwidth.

    And it's free........
