    I have a Treo 650 from Verizon, ROM 1.03 and Hardware B.

My problem is that when I send an SMS message, TWO copies of the message gets sent to my "Sent" Folder. I am unable to determine if TWO messages are actually being sent or if it's simply just duplicating the message and putting two in the Sent Folder. Verizon charges me 10 cents a message which is not a lot of money but, on general principle, I don't want to be paying twice the cost for something. The Duplicate Sents are kind of annoying too.

Is anyone else having this problem? The SMS App is from Palm, so I'm not sure if it's a Palm App issue or a Verizon one. I looked at the settings and could not find a fix.

    Can anyone help?

    THANKS!

Send yourself a message: do you get one or two in your inbox?

I'm getting duplicate sms messages when sending from my wife's Verizon treo 650 as well...ususally to people in her contacts list. If you send to a phone number that you manually enter in, it just sends one. Does anyone know how to fix this? Verizon techs have no clue. thanks!

I have the problem too. I spent 1.5 hours with Verizon on the phone today and they have no real answer for it. It sends duplicate texts out when I send a text using address book lookup and only when not in the thread. It sends one text to the correct number, and one text to the 7 digit number, so if it is local the person with whom I am texting receives two messages and if it is a long distance text the person receives one text and the duplicate text goes to the local number (and its usually a land line so I get a text back that says I can send a voice message to a land line for $.25). If I type in the number manually and it is in my address book or not (doesnt matter)- it does not send a duplicate. If I send a text from within a chat - it does not send a duplicate. I will post once the trouble ticket with Verizon gets resolved.

After creating the trouble ticket (and Verizon not calling back, of course) I called and the resolution to the trouble ticket was "update the software on the phone." I am already running 1.04 which is the most up-to-date for the Verizon Treo 650, so that wasnt much of a resolution. The rep went on to say that it is a known problem and that they would replace my phone. I guess we will see if the new phone continues to have this same problem.
