No, that's not necessary; in fact, if you delete your Datebk5db file, you'll lose your DateBk prefs and custom view information.

Well, I installed Datebk 6 after seeing lots of users indicating it is stable. As usual, I find it stable as a rock. LOTS of enhancements. I think Dewar is due an upgrade fee, particularly when you look at the fact that my Datebk 5 has followed me all the way from my Samsung sph-i300!! Another thing that has amazed me about this developer is the speed with which he takes care of things. If I remember correctly, he had his program runnable on the 650 a few days after the first of us got ours.

I can't imagine my smartphone without Datebk.

I installed over DateBk5 without any problems. Like shadowboxer- extremely stable. I upgraded an hour after installing.

Yea, after using it a for two days, I am going to go ahead and pay for the upgrade.

It's perfectly stable now, but it's still in beta and there are still a few things to fix, like todo sorting and a couple of bugs with editing templates from the List view (one of which causes a reset).

Go ahead and install it - it's still more stable than a lot of apps which pretend to be Treo-worthy - but make sure that you subscribe to the pimlicodatebk Yahoo group so you'll know when the next version is out.

I have been lurking around the Yahoo group since the beta started and i noticed you are there finding bugs (some things you find amaze me ) and helping others quite often, thats why i was waiting for the thumbs up from you. (which i still havent recieved yes i know you said go ahead and install it, but i will wait for the thumbs up ) I think i will lurk a little while longer to see if another release comes or its taken out of beta. Thank you Bill for your input

I have had it running for a week now. No probs AT ALL. I went ahead and paid 12.95 for the upgrade even though it is still in beta.

    Bill:

I don't see a help database to install in the datebk 6 files -- did you just install the datebk 5 help database or should we wait for Pimlico to write the specific datebk 6 help file? I notice the new manuel is still in production.

    thanks in advance

Yeah, there isn't a DB6 helpfile, yet; just use the DB5 helpfile for the time being.

I've just downloaded DateBk 6. On the Yahoo website for DateBk, it says you have to install two prc files...problem is, I can't find anywhere which files those are, so I have not yet installed the program. Any help would be appreciated. I love DateBk 5 and look forward to the new version. Thanks.

In the datebook compressed zip folder, the two files are:

    DateBk6.prc and
    DateBk6-resources.prc

Thanks! Anything else I need to know in installing the upgrade? I'm just going to install those two files over v. 5. I know I also need to register again, which I'll do.

I just downloaded datebk6 and it's working pretty well, except for one thing. It was a new install, not an upgrade over an earlier version. The install went ok, but when I try to assign an icon to an appointment I get the message that I have to first install the icons and that I should go to the Read-Me-First file and the User Manual. However, there was no Read-Me-First file with the download and the User Manual hasn't been posted yet. Can anyone help?

I forgot to add in my above post:

    The files I installed were:

    DateBk6.prc
    DateBk6-Resources.prc
    DateBk6VersaMailPlugin.prc
    dbScan.prc
