    The subject says it all.

...although, to be more precise: I know I can just search for "french" at palmgear or handango and find apps, I was wondering if anyone here had experience with specific apps that they can recommend.

    Cool! Thanks.

Hmmm, I'm looking at the Slovoed products and I see that they have multiple versions (full, extended, gold) of the dictionaries. But something doesn't make sense:

    French-English and English-French dictionary (Gold)
French-English Palm OS dictionary contains 43 565 entries
English-French Palm OS dictionary contains 45 122 entries
    Memory required: 990 KB.
    French-English and English-French dictionary (Extended)
French-English Palm OS dictionary contains 34 998 entries
English-French Palm OS dictionary contains 37 777 entries
    Memory required: 1050 KB.
How is it possible that the version with more entries takes up less RAM?

Oh, sorry about the code expiring, it was valid for absolutely ages. Damn.

As for the size issue, the number of entries specifies the number of words the dictionary has definitions for, so the first dictionary covers more words.
However the 'extended' one has an extended definition for each entry and so takes up more ram, despite fewer words being covered.
