    Vikingjunior,

Where did you get the 20%? Did I miss the part where the discount was specified?

Sorry, it was a guess and also a suggestion at the same time.

Curious... does anyone use the BT Reciever outside the car?
Can you tote it on your belt while hiking?

Does the cradle handle a skinned (Seidio) Treo?

Also... will the BT Reciever be compatible with Delorme Street Atlas?

    1) Yes
    2) Yes (of course you'll need some software that works for tracking you on a hike)
    3) No, the Seidio cradles dont fit a device that has a Seidio Skin...It fits snugly on the bottom 1" of the Treo so you can't have a skin that extends down there
    4) If the Delmorme software is capable of using a external GPS receiver than yes...

Does Seidio make a car cradle that will accomodate a skinned Treo?

Sorry, no. Our tolerances are pretty tight and we go for a secure fit.

Ok.... so if I get the Seidio Cradle and BT GPS, I have to come up with another carrying solution for the Treo.

Unless there's a cradle to accomodate the skinned Treo.

what do you mean by a carrying solution...Do you use the skin for protection or for grip or what?

you can do some tweaking of an e-grip to make it work (somebody else did that). The key is you can't have any skin that on the bottom 1" of the Treo because that's where the cradle connects.

I use the skin for protection (as much as it can) from minor dings.

The more I think about it..... it's not much protection.

Ordered the BT GPS and the GS2200s Cradle. Shame Seidio doesn't have this bundled.

I like the TomTom reviews but I need to access maps from my laptop as well as my Treo. Delorme, while not perfect, allows me to pull up maps from either location.

Now I just have to get used to carrying my Treo without a skin.....

I have read some reviews of Delorme Street Atlas 2006 Handheld that it's awfully slow if you put maps on the SD card. What's been your experience? $35 is an attractive price, but not if the software is too slow.
  19. #39
I haven't found it to be slow at all. But then again, I don't have anything to compare it to.

I use the maps on my Treo occassionally for orientation or to refresh my memory. I thought adding GPS to it would be nice to log trips.

Typically, I'll map a trip out on my laptop and print it. Then if I need to look beyond the printed map I go to the Treo.

I keep my base map (my county) in the main memory and a State wide map on the card. Even when I access the map on my card it's not that slow.

You'll have to give us your experiences after you have your GPS hooked up. Good luck.
