    Hello everybody

If I'm not mistaken, these two programs do the same, to obtain more free execution memory.

    Which is better for you?

    There is some difference?

    Thanks!

No. UDMH manages free available HEAP memory, dbCacheTool manages free dbCache.

Which if either of these can provide additional stability for a 650 which is running Zlauncher, and has 12MB free RAM (thanks to Zlauncher), but still resets more often than is desirable?

dbCacheTool produces additional stability. UDMH enables applications that require large amounts of HEAP to run such as zQuake.

In my opinion, the proper use of Resco Locker is as important, if not more, than the use of dbCacheTool:

Then, Can I use both together?

Actually I use DBCachetool with RescoLocker. Before run any application that requires a lot of memory cache? like Viamichelin or Tomtom I launch DBCacheToolDA to free memory. I thought that UDMH made the same thing but in way but elegant.

Which is the combination that you consider perfect for the Treo 650?

I agree rlocker works wonders I got rid of dbcache and I can't tell a difference. I think it was causing more bad than good. It would get to the point that the palm would stop seeing my sd card with dbcache enabled until I did a backup and a hard reset and restore.

Ok, I will install UDMH...(3.2 or 5.0 beta?)

And which is difference between Heap memory and dbcache memory?

Last time I tried dbCache my palm woke up with all its prefs missing; that hadn't happened in about two months since using Resco Locker.

I had it set to 3 free 1 max and I got done sending an MMS and going back into ZLauncher, after a few seconds of "DBCache clearing" the Treo reset, reset again, reset a third time, this last time finally coming back up without ZL or [un]saved preferences. A restore of those files and all was happy, but ick.

I have Zlauncher locked (with rescoLocker) and these dbcachetool settings (no problems with unsaved preferences).

Doesn't UDMH use free RAM as additional heap memory above and beyond the available limit, or something like that so if I have 4mb free in dbCache and 8mb free in RAM, UDMH can make the Treo think you have 12mb of dbCache room to run apps..or something like that (sorry if that was totally off)
