    Would someone mind explaining what this is exactly?

    Guessing from the name I guess it cloaks your voice or something like that, but I don't get why palm would enable something like that by default


    Also,

    what is TTY/TDD Mode? And what are "Long DTMF Tones"?

    Voice privacy enables some voice encryption on some areas with some carriers. It makes it a little harder for your cell phone calls to be intercepted.

    TTY/TDD Mode is for using your phone with telecommunication devices for hearing impaired people.

    Long DTMF tones are used for some answering machines and other telephone devices that recognize touch tones for instructions. Sometimes, they need the touch tone button pushed for a second or so rather than just a sound burst. The long DTMF tones option allows this although it takes longer to dial in general.
