Palm Gear sends me this promotional email with a program called 2dial that gives a visual user interface to your voice mail. Seemed pretty neat. I downloaded the ******* and not only doesn't it work the treo went into a fatal exception loop that I can't get out of. The only thing I can think of is to let the battery go dead and sync. The treo is completely useless until then. I can't get a phone call or get beyond the fatal exception dialog box. Sticking the pointer in the back to reset does nothing but bring back the fatal exception box.

If anyone has any reboot suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Also, DO NOT DOWNLOAD 2DIAL UNTIL THEY CAN COME UP WITH SOME FIX FOR THIS.

Thank God I am not expecting any important phone calls. I must have installed 50 programs over the years and then deleted them if I didn't like them ... but none of them ever completely shut the device down! Amazing.

Post this in the developers subforum under "Shsh Software". Shimon is one of the most responsive developers on this board. I'm sure he'll be able to help you out.

    Hi,

First - I am REALLY REALLY sorry for this. I never mean to have my apps cause trouble like this.

You are totally correct - I did not indeed add a warning about working only on the Treo 6x0 products. I will add this ASAP at PalmGear and at the application itself.

To solve your problem - can you try a "cold reset" - I think it is done by pressing the RESET pin together with the arrow up. Not sure about the Treo 300 - maybe ask/search at this forum.

As I said - I am really sorry. If you email me at contact@shsh.com, I will try to compensate you somehow.

    Shimon

No problem, Shimon. It was as much my fault for assuming backward compatibility. I found a method for resetting out of the fatal exception loop without losing any data. I'm back to normal and you certainly don't need to recompense in any manner. I wish I could just buy a 650, but the days of laying out major cash for random toys are temporarily on hold. But as some of us still have these older models, specs will help prevent this from happening to any other people out there. Thanks for your prompt and kind reply.

    Thanks.

I have already added the note at the various web sites, and will add a device checking in the next version of the app itself.
