    On my Treo 650 , I set SnapperMail to check every 10 minutes between 08:00 - 23:59
But when the keyguard is on and power is off, Snappermail does not connect automatically and check mail.
How can I make it connect and check mail automatically even the screen is off and keyguard is on ?

    any ideas ?

That's bizarre. So, on your device, if you turn Keyguard off, Snapper fetches, but if it's on, it doesn't? What settings are you using for keyguard? Are you using any 3rd party security program? What are your settings in the native Security app?

I don't have any 3rd party security software.
    natvie security settings:
    - auto lock device: on power off
    - current privacy : mask records
    native keyguard settings:
    - auto keyguard: when power is turned off
    - disable touchscreen when : (none is selected)

in fact , it seems that NONE of my auto-updating applications can connect to internet when my security is on.
is there a solution for this ?
    (other than permanent connection)
I think we should have a setting for enabling Treo connection when it's off.

Perhaps it's your Autolock setting; turn it off and see if SM fetches then. That really shouldn't matter...here's what Snapper's FAQ area suggests: http://snappermail.com/support/#27

I would bet auto lock device on power off is the culprit.

    scottymomo,

you are right. I've just tried disabling security, and it works...
But then how will I force security ?

Set it for a preset delay that's longer the the Snapper request.

    you are kidding ?

it would have no meaning. I want to disable anyone from using my Treo when I leave some place (my desk at work, on a dinner table etc)
if I set a preset delay (that's longer than the Snapper request) it would never lock.
then what's the meaning of using security ?

Try TealLock; it's got a setting that allows certain apps to function even while the device is locked.

Palm looks at security one way: if it's set to on - it's secure based upon the settings. If it's not on then - well it's not on.

Teal Lock would be my recommendation as Bill noted....or you continue to "ping" Snappermail when you get back.

    Thanks for these suggestions.
What about similar security applications like Teal Lock ?
    I'm looking for something lightweight.

The only 3rd party security app I've ever used is TealLock, sorry.
