    Three times today my Treo soft reset mysteriously. I checked the system error log and it states,

    "A reset was caused on .... while running "Network": Fatal Exception."

    Anyone got a clue what's causing this?

    Cingular?

    Loose SIM?

    Three pieces (thicknesses) of scotch tape on the back of the SIM.

    Wouldn't be loose SIMdrome but I would bet Cingular FW 1.17

    I've got the "new" sim tray but would a loose sim cause a reset?
    My firmware reads 1.51 and my software version reads Treo650-1.17-CNG.
    The reset has just started and I've had my phone upgraded for several weeks.
    I'm not too terribly concerned because when it resets, it turns the phone back on.
    Still...in the same breath, I'd like it to stop.

    Just to test your sim, cut a piece of thick paper (like a business card or something) and put it in the sim tray behind the sim card. It will make it a bit more snug, even with the new tray...At least that way you can rule it out.

    I have been having insane resets in Blazer recently. Very frustrating, I know

    Ok. Still reseting.
    Called Cingular who connected me to Palm who suggested third party conflict.
    Suggested solution - hard reset.

    The only software change I've had was upgrading VolumeCare to version 5.01.

    If the Sim Card is bad or has been bent, would that cause the reset?

    And why is everyone's solution a hard reset?

    If you're Palm support, they have no idea so that's their solution for everything

    You say software change...which sounds like you have other stuff on your Treo...what else you got that runs in RAM? Hard reset and selective restore might be your best bet...cleared most of my spontaneous resets after upgrading from the 1.15 FW/SW
