I've ordered my visor and have some questions as I anxiously await its arrival. I'm interested in your personal opinions on programs for: reading e-books and web sites to download books, personal finance programs such as expense tracking and/or budgeting, and any other useful programs. Thanks in advance for your help.

Search the discussion archives (Software) for "doc readers".

and web sites to download books,
    Maybe Palm Gear HQ?

personal finance programs such as expense tracking and/or budgeting,
Search the discussion archives (Software) for "expense trackers" or "spreadsheet". You could even search by date, as I'm pretty sure I saw a thread about this in the past week. FYI there is an expense app that comes with your Visor.
    and any other useful programs.
This is a popular question, I suggest you search the Software forum for "must-have programs" or "third party apps" or "favorite". That said, here's my .02: an app with which to read/edit word processing and spreadsheet files, AvantGo (may still be bundled with apps on the CD-R you receive with your Visor), and Solitaire.
And you bought a backup module with your Visor, right?

http://www.memoware.com and http://www.peanutpress.com are 2 major sites for downloading ebooks.

Check out the good list of Palm OS software at:

AvantGo is my favorite and most used program.

That one might want to be included in FAQ's. I think it's a (near)perfect starter list for new users.
