Has anyone had problems with their Cingular Treo housings developing cracks around the screen area? This is the second unit I've had to do this. The crack shown in this attachment happend today while it was just laying out on a kitchen counter. I never could figure out where the cracks came from on my previous unit. I am really getting tired of replacing 650's that I take great care of.

Any ideas for future prevention or housing/faceplate replacement?

you will need to get it replaced. It is a manufacturing defect, and Palm is aware of it, though a CS rep might not be.

What if the unit is not under warranty? Any suggestions or experience working with Palm when it might be a defect? I purchased mine used on ebay.
