I'd like to be able to select a word/sentence/paragraph without having to pull out the stylus.

Can I do this with one hand and the 5-way pad?

    Thanks,
    Matt

Yup. Search for "FieldPlus" and/or "TreoSelecText." I use FieldPlus and like it a lot. It's free. It allows you to press the shift button, then use the 5-way to select text word-by-word or line-by-line, just like holding down shift & using the arrow keys on a Windows PC. Config screen is hidden under the "Other" section in Prefs.

You can also tap the shift key 3 times allowing you to select text without holding it down.

FieldPlus doesn't require holding the shift key; it's press-and-release. I was just comparing it to holding the shift key on a PC.
