Can someone suggest a replacement SMS app, or a solution to the below problem?

The reasons, I'm looking for a replacement SMS app is that I noticed that there is no way to cycle through SMS messages on my new Treo 650.

On my Treo 600, there were arrows that you could click on at the lower left taking you forward or backwards through messages. Alot of the messages I get are broken into multiple SMS's and i don't think I'll ever get use to exiting the first part of a message and selecting the next.

In trying to figure out how to configure this features, I also noticed, that on the 600 this called it the SMS app (SMS v1.01), on the 650 it's called Messaging v2.0

    Thanks for the suggestions.

How about selecting something other than "Never" in Options/Preferences/Chat/"Create chats from messages"?
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://download.skype.com/share/skypebuttons/js/skypeCheck.js"></script>

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I noticed no change in the behavior after making the above change.

What exactly are you asking for? My 650 threads all SMS conversations. Any SMS received from a certain party are all placed in the same thread. You can easily scroll through all of the messages in a particular thread. You can also scroll through the various threads. There's no need to ever exit one message in order to read another message from the same person. They're always grouped together.

Perhaps I don't understand he problem...how is it that grouping the messages together into Chat threads doesn't help?

I believe that the original poster is saying that they are getting SMSs from automated sources or at least not from other users "chatting" with them. So message one might be: "Server 1 temperature at 9 PM is 95 degrees C" and message two might be: "Server 1 temperature at 9:15 PM is 135 degrees C" etc.

The current SMS apps isn't going to allow you to go directly from message 1 to message 2 no matter what your settings without going back through the main console.

So the OP is complaining about not being able to change SMS threads while currently in a thread? That makes sense. I could see wanting something like a left and right push on the d-pad to move you between SMS threads.

Exactly Kelinger, the SMS's I'm having challenges with are addressed to my phone 6305551212@mobile.mycingular.com

When these messages are broken up, there is no way to easily scroll through the messages. As suggested, something like a left and right push on the d-pad to move you between SMS threads is what I was looking for.

As I mentioned, on the 600 you click on arrows at the bottom of the screen to move between messages.

Is there a replacement app that will allow this? So far I've played with funSMS but hate the interface.

On the treo 600, you could open up an instant message, read it and then press the "forward" or "back" arrow to read the next message or previous message.
why can't we do this on the treo 650 sms? They eliminated those forward and backward arrows. now it's awkward. What everyone else's take on this? Are there any workarounds or fixes for this?

The only solution, I have come up with so far is to use Chattermail and an IMAP email account since the messages are addressed to an email address.
