Ok, I've seen tons of threads / posts regarding the 650's headset connector being weak and easy to break. So is the headset connector pretty much useless then? I haven't touched mine in fear of accidentally breaking it!

What type of headset is safest to use with it, one with a straight plug or one with a right angled plug?

Also, if I use one of these:

will I have to unplug it to use a headset with microphone, if I'm using headphones to listen to music?

Any one of those adapters should work with your internal mic.

Ah, I was thinking that once something was plugged into that headset port, that the microphone on the bottom of the Treo would be deactivated since some headsets have built in microphones.

I use a regular stereo headset with earphones to listen to podcasts/music. When I get a call I hear the ringtone in the earphones, answer the call using the Treo microphone and hear the caller in my earphones. I just hold the treo up to my mouth for the microphone. I don't have to remove my earphones at all...

Hey. I've seen that Seidio one, but it's kind of bulky. I want one like the one MTT is making in this thread:

It has to be unobtrusive and the headphone jack should be mounted sideways / horizontally. This way the Treo isn't resting on the tip of the headphone plug when in my pocket.

I saw that. It's a neat mod, but I'd rather not void my warranty.
