I've downloaded 4 free applications, opened them and they are in my window "palmOne Quick Install"

The file types are "Palm application", yet when I do a HotSync they do not transfer to my T650.

Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

3 aps are simple games and the 4th is doodlebug.

    Thanks, Bill

Palm applications can be identified by their .prc extension. Each of the downloads you reference is an archive of some sort (zip, sit or exe). Did you unzip each download and drag only the .prc file from that download to QuickInstall?

I'll have to check Sunday evening. At work, and my sync computer is at home, & won't be there until then.

Thanks for the help, and I'll check more then.

Make sure the "Quick Install" conduit is set to synchronize files, otherwise the install tool won't install the files...

I'm back. I tried to do a screen capture, no luck. I've read just about every single page on the help screen for the "palmOne Quick Install" window. To no avail! I have number the paragraphs below so if you reference one, I'll know which you are responding to.

    1) the 4 files to be loaded all have the .prc extension.

    2) I don't understand Gaurav's comment.

    3) On the "Quick Install" window, I don't have a choice, I think. "...conduit is set to synchronize files..." Where is this set? Is this a synchorization setting I'm overlooking? I did not see it in the desk top "hotsync" set up window. Is this a setting on my T650.

    4) Also, complicating matters, on my palmOne Quick Install there are three users: blueribbon, blueribbon3 and Blueribbon3 How do I know which my T650 recognizes? In my hotsync set up window, "blueribbon3" is the only one available, the other two are grayed out. This may be an important key to my issues. The programs I'm trying to load are just under Blueribbon3, not both of them.

    5) Just guessing, if I could delete the Blueribbon3 from my "Quick Install" window, it may make matters simpler. I tried to highlight the Blueribbon3, and I tried the edit drop down menue.

    6) My normal user name is blueribbon, but I set up a new name, so the files would not be confused with the Zier 31 files, which I previous (to installing T650 desk top) completely deleted all the files. I never entered blueribbon on anything that had anything to do with the T650.

    7) Question: If the new applications successfully load onto the T650, I would assume I'd see new icons on the T650 desk top? Or, do they appear under another icon that I have to open up, to find the applications.

    8) I've put a lot of info in this response, and I hope it is not confusing, but I assume the more information I can give you, the better off I am.

    9) If I can use e-mail with you, I can send screen captures, so you can see what things look like.

    Thanks, Bill

Launch the Hotsync app on your Treo: your Hotsync name is in the top right corner (I suspect it's "blueribbon3"). If it's not "Blueribbon3", then delete those apps out of QuickInstall, redownload, double click each prc and choose your Treo's Hotsync ID as the recepient.

Worked. I think 2 things had to happen. I had 3 unused user names I deleted. Then I reloaded the applications, then did a hotsync. Still could not find them!!!!!

But when I'm in my T650 desktop they first appeared in the unfiled folder. They MAY have been there before. But I opened and closed this folder, and they now moved to my regular "desktop"

Thanks again!! It was frustrating for me, but now at least I have some games on the T650. Something to do during those important meetings.
