Yes, you can just install over the old version. Although sometimes the conduit will not have changed, at this early stage we are making minor adjustments to both the Palm and PC side so it is best to play it safe and reinstall everything.

Thank you for your usual quick response, I really appreciate it! I'll go ahead and install version 1.0d

ps - can someone tell me how to reply to a specific posting? I know I didn't do this one correctly and I'm not finding any mention of what to do.
[quote]Just hit the 'Quote' button at the top of the post.

I imagined the 'quote' button would give me a listing of famous quotes to use in WordSmith documents... who would have thought! Thanks again.

I've been trying out Wordsmith, and if the next release can handle bullets, tables, and incorporates drawing into its memo pad and wordprocessor I think it is good enough to hold the market on palm word processor's for a while.

One minor annoyance though regarding the memo pad that comes with Wordsmith. When you start a new memo, the first character does not default to upper case as with the default palm memo pad. I know its minor, but its nice not to have to do that extra pen-stroke. Is this going to be fixed Blue Nomad?

    Thanks

    Scott,

Any chance the Tab key could be changed to insert five spaces? I know it's not a real tab, but that would at least be closer to a real tab in formatting terms...

So, is there an interesting story behind the name of Blue Nomad?

Or did it just have that certain artistic flair that sounds so good when your dealing with portable computing?

    Just being nosy.

    Thanks

    Hi Denny,

The problem with that is it would often make the situation worse when you have hanging indents. I'd rather just spend the time and do it right. It is complex enough that we didn't want to push back the release date to wait for it but not so complex that I want to add a temporary fix that is non-optimal. I'd rather just do it right.

Don't worry. This should be implemented in the fairly near future. Our output format is already setup for it. I just have to make it happen on screen. It is high on my list.

I just installed Wordsmith on my Prism, and, when I go to the Buttons panel of Prefs, I get a Fatal Exception. This happened once before when an application (Palmscape?) installed an Internet panel in Prefs. I resolved it by removing the panel.

    Now what?

I have been using Wordsmith for over 2 weeks (the 12/31 beta version) and have been very pleased with it overall.

However, I use WordPerfect almost exclusively both at work and at home and I cannot get it to read my edited WS documents. In order to get a doc to WP, I have to open the edited WS doc in Microsoft Word, convert to WP 5.0, then open it in WP and convert to WP 7.0. This is, obviously, the scenic route to getting my doc directly into WP.

Does anyone know if WS intends on providing support for WP other than RTF format (which appears to be useless for my purposes)?

    Thanks!

    Hi argent,

It is PDASquare's policy not to censor or delete threads. However, the developers of WordSmith requested that we delete that thread as it contains some sensitive information regarding WordSmith. Therefore, after much consideration, we decided to respect the developer's wish and deleted that thread.

I apologize if it caused any misunderstanding.

Since WordSmith assigns itself to the memo button, how about hitting the memo button when in the app toggles between the Doc & Memo tab?

The Memo button changes categories just like the standard Palm apps. If you have a keyboard, right/left arrows change between docs and memos.

Is anyone having problems hotsyncing after having installed v1.0d? There's no question that the installation of this version has caused my IVX to stop hotsyncing (didn't install anything else, didn't change anything on the computer, sync works with other Visors on the computer, mine won't sync on other computers since the installation) I'm getting fairly rapid responses from Blue Nomad email support, but we seem to have fallen into the "surely it's everything else but OUR software" pit, so I'm not optimistic about what help I'll be getting in the short run.

    Thanks.

If you have a Stowaway, the right and left arrow keys toggle between memo and doc.

To start, frequently used software I use include Launcher3, UltraSoft Money, AvantGo, Diddle, Album to Go, and WordSmith 1.0D (registered).

Lately my VDlx fatal exceptions *every* day (not requiring a hard reset) - and so happening when I don't run WS 1.0D. Little jolts, or slight bumping of the VDlx also seems to cause fatal exceptions. Could it be that 1.0D is causing the problem or also the VDlx needs repair? Wondering if 1.0D is bugfree enough to eliminate it as a cause for fatal exceptions. Thanks, jy.

It sure sounds like a hardware issue. If WordSmith isn't running, it shouldn't be causing any problems. 1.0d seems pretty solid.
