I just started doing Bluetooth Hotsyncs earlier this morning. I'm finding that each time I sync, the 650 resets itself.

    Is this normal?

    Any thoughts?

At what point does the reset occur? Does it not reset if you now perform a normal cable Hotsync?

Resets after it finishes 'cleaning up'. I've just set it up on my laptop, which has seen no syncing activity in 12 months. My home desktop did a normal sync without the reset last night about midnight.

So, try a cable Hotsync on the laptop and let us know how it goes.

Okay, I synced with the cable and the reset occurred. I just thought about the fact that on those syncs, I had the Palm set to overwrite the desktop.

I also tried a standard sync, conduits set for synchronizing, and the same thing occurs.

The newest program installed was Chatteremail, a few days ago. This behavior only started yesterday when I started to set up my laptop for Bluetooth syncs.

Any thoughts? Does anybody else exhibit the same behavior?

What message do you get when you dial the ERR code (probably either #*377 or ##377, depending on what type of T650 you've got) after one of these Hotsync resets?

How's your Backup conduit set? It should be, "Handheld overwrites desktop".

A reset was caused on 11/26/05 at 10:14am while running "WordToGo":

    Fatal Exception

So, I tried to run WTG from the Palm, I now have the same reset. I deleted WTG and reinstalled it. This did not cure the problem.

Next step, remove ChatterEMail. Warm reboot. Same problem.

    Remove WTG, Warm reboot.

Reinstall WTG. Problem is still there. Further thoughts on diagnosing?

Where would I have found out about ##377?

I'm not backing up to the desktop at this moment, having switched backup to RBackup. As long as it continues to run properly for anouther couple of days, I will add the desktop backup to it. If you have any thoughts on this, I would be more than happy to hear them.

    Thanks

Paste your laptop's hotsync log into your next reply.

Good news (and thanks for the help). Found further instructions on the removal of WTG. Completely removed (this time found the remaining pieces and removed them with FileZ) WTG and ChatterEMail. Synced okay without reset. Reinstalled WTG. Synced properly without reset. Renstalled ChatterEMail. Synced okay.

Later in the week, I will try the bluetoth sync again and see if anything changes. As that's a different computer, I'll start with handheld overwriting desktop.

thanks for all of the assistance

    Rick
