Has the KeyCaps setup feature been removed from Butler? I'm using Butler 3.33 and can no longer get KeyCaps to work before it tries to initiate KeyLaunching one of my favorites.

I still have it on mine. Upgraded yesterday and have had no problems.

Yep, Keycaps Setup is still there on the Navigation page.

That's really strange because it isn't there on my Navigation page. I'll reinstall when I get home and see what I get.

You probably have disable them both, then enable KeyCaps, then enable Butler. If you have upgraded to 3.33 it would be only in the last week, they can easily loose their sequence. As noted in docs somewhere keycaps has to be enabled first before enabling Bulter Keylaunch otherwise they wont work!

It is this option that I no longer see (from the Butler documentation):

KeyLaunch works with KeyCaps600 - but you will have to do the following:
    1) Set the number of repeats to ignore to 1 or more. The larger the number - the longer the delay before the KeyLaunch.
    2) Select 'disable in phone app' in KeyCaps600
    3) Enable keylaunch AFTER enabling KeyCaps600.
Note: non-KeyCaps600 users should set number of repeats to 0.

You should see a link to the option on the Navigation page. If you still don't, choose Disable All from Butler's main menu, warm reset your Treo (hold the up button while performing a normal soft reset, releasing it when the black/grey Palm logo appears), delete Butler via the native app launcher's App/Delete menu, perform a soft reset and install Butler again.

Thanks Bill Gamble, I just tried your suggest but still no luck. I'm wondering if my Treo is holding onto a Butler file. This particular option was visable and nothing out of the ordinary has happened with my Treo. I still have no luck even going to an older Butler version. It's really odd.

Just a thought. Is Keycaps working on your Treo? I believe this option in Butler is there only if it sees Keycaps installed

Where is version 3.33 of Butler?

    Is it Beta?

I thought the current release was 3.30.

Yeah, it's beta. It introduces a Remote Lock function:

Well the mystery is now solved. But before you all think I'm a total *****, which is beside the point, the KeyLauncher in Butler was working properly with TreoKeyHack the other day. I thought I had deleted KeyCaps a few months ago when I installed TreoKeyHack. I didn't think KeyCaps was 'hede' friendly so I deleted it and never thought that contributed to this problem, despite how obvious it is.

I have since reinstalled KeyCaps but left it disabled. That allows KeyLauncher to work in conjunction with TreoKeyHack.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm feeling pretty stupid right now. LOL!!

I know this sounds a bit like a broken record, but my version of keycaps (0.9) solves the 'hede unfriendlyness' of the old version of keycaps, as well as fixing some longstanding bugs.

    get it here

Thanks doomsey, I'm giving your version a shot.

By the way - you can get the Turbo version of Keycaps650 on Daniel Sachs website. He has modified the original KeyCaps to remove the hede function calls and speed it up, with the knowledge of the original author who is no longer updating it. It makes a big difference esp. to applications like DocsToGo.
