    I have a Treo 650 that seems to think any file (.zip) I try to download through Blazer is 0.3K and does not download files properly. Does anyone know why this might be happening or how to correct it? Downloads used to work properly, but now I get this behavior. I don't really know what changed since the were working, but I recently got a replacement treo (for unrelated problems) and restored using BackupMan and the new one has this behavior as well.

    Thank you for any information you can provide.

    Is it actually trying to download the zip, or is it trying to download some aspect of the web page, like a php file? Does this happen on multiple sites? Please give an example.
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://download.skype.com/share/skypebuttons/js/skypeCheck.js"></script>

    It is actually trying to download the ".zip" file and also ".prc" files (as opposed to when I try to download off of these forums and get the PHP file). A couple of examples are of downloading CallFilter 1.3 from mytreo.net (after logging in) and also doenloading the Early Release Access .prc files for ProfileCare from www.gotreosoftware.com

    Does it help if you delete cookies and cache (and then perform a soft reset)? Oh, BTW, what is your max cache size set to?
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

    Deleting cookies and cache did not help after a soft reset and my max cache size is set to 1 MB right now. I am not set up for a proxy server, but here is some interesting information: When I inspect the files that Blazer does download (the 0.3K files) they all are exactly this HTML code/page:

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <title></title>
    </head>
    <body>
    The Requested Page can not be displayed
    </body>
    </html>

    So, it's not trying to download a zip file...does the file actually have an html extension?

    Nope. The file is named as the file I am trying to download is named. (i.e. "callfilter13.zip" and the actual name of the profilecare ".prc" file) It is trying to download the actual .zip or .prc file, but aparently is getting a HTML page from the webserver instead of the actual file.

    This is a file type association problem.

    I've seen it recently upgrading to Documents to Go 8, but I've seen it previously before in other applications. In case you are running Docs to Go, you can temporarilly fix the problem by grabbing a copy of their TechTool and using the Advanced Options (hidden in the menu) to Delete Docs2Go Prefs. Blazer will then work normally again until either you run Docs2Go again or your device resets. An annoying workaround, but one that can be done easily. Using a more-direct prefs editor, you could do this for other offending applications as well, but it'll take some blind stabbing to get it.

    I've found the broken association in this case and am using (the new beta version of) Resco Explorer to hand edit my associations, delete the malformed "applicationpdf" type and replace it with "application/pdf" which is the actual problem that is breaking Blazer.

    Ah...I did recently upgrade to Docs2Go version 8, so this sounds like a good possibility. I also own Resco Explorer and will try out the beta version to fix the problem and see if that solves it. Does Resco Explorer fix it for a more permanent basis, or do you have the problem again every time you run Docs2Go?

    Thanks and I will let you know if that fixes the problem.

    Well, that seemed to be the problem. After deleting the malformed association for PDF and replacing it with the appropriate one I can download again through Blazer. Thanks a bunch for both of your help and I am interested in knowing if I have tocorrect this after each reset and/or each start of Docs2Go.

    Thanks again!

    With the new Resco beta, there's an recipe for making a lasting fix:
    1) Make the two changes as we've described above (delete the bad association, and optionally, create the good one.)
    2) Menu>Tools>Manage Asociations
    A dialog pops up that has a checkbox for "Restore on each reset". Turn that on, and don't forget to pres the "Backup" button. That'll save your associations as they are right now and use that set on reset. When installing new or upgraded apps, you'll want to make sure to turn off the Association Manager, reset, run apps, etc to get all the new associations created, then probably repeat this whole process again.

    That's all there is to it. I've been running without problems since I figured it out last thursday.

    Great! I saw these options and assumed that this was the case. Nice to get the confirmation about it though. Hopefully Dataviz will release a patch that corrects the bad mime type.

    Thanks again for the help and I am really happy I got it working again.

    Looks like there is a Dataviz permanent solution to this problem located here:

    I am also having this problem, but I have not upgraded my docs2go. does the problem extend to ver 7 also? I haven't had this problem until recently. The only change I have made in the last 2 months is that Sprint e911 update.

    Any help is appreciated.
