For those of you who use both Butler and Treo Alarm, which application, if either, do you use for alarms?

I've been a long time Treo Alarm user because I like that I can quickly get a manual weather update. I've been using Butler for my alarms. I just installed the latest beta for Treo Alarm and I'm wondering which might be better at doing alarms. I don't need the MP3 playback of Butler, so that's not really a consideration.

I've always used TreoAlarm for my alarms; that's the one function of Butler I don't use. I'm still using v1.0 of TreoAlarm - testing the newer versions usually led to resets on my T650.

I bought Butler and Treoalarm but don't use either !!!

I don't need too many alarms (I used to use TreoAlarm for it's weather .. but 4cast is much better). And the only feature I used to use in Butler was the Quicklaunch.

I opted for simplicity instead of installing programs and using just a few of their features ...

I agree; if I didn't use TreoAlarm's alarms or it's weather update or it's time sync functions and if the only feature of Butler I found useful was the Keylauncher, I'd delete them both, too.

I miss the timesync in TA. Network Time Sync works for me so I use that instead.

The developer of TA had plans to keep enhancing the product. I haven't seen many additional features added to it for ever ...

I use TreoAlarm for updating weather too, I have a 6am wakeup/weather update, and a silent noon weather update. I just use Butler for nagging, don't use any of the other features.

Butler was also good for a 3, 4, maybe 5am wakeup when it reset the Treo with 3.27, but that feature was updated in 3.28.

4cast updates the weather every hour. The alarm in Worldclock is enough for me the once-in-blue-moon that I have to catch early flights. For most events needing alarms, I prefer Datebk5 entries that keeps a record of the meetings etc.

I don't need nagging from Butler (no one calls or SMS's me much :-( ). The standard keyguard is good enough for me. Keylauncher was good.

Butler had stability problems for a while (losing Saved Preferences). After "tomporarily" removing Butler, I got used to it's absence.

Another of my dissapointments was Profilecare with it's slowdowns. Maybe the new ROM has fixed the system bug that was causing the slowdowns ...

I've seen references to that, but never experienced it, myself. I depend on the Attention Grabber function for SnapperMail alerts (I like System Sounds off, and that prevents SM from sounding alerts) and as a backup for DB5: something about my setup prevents DB5 from consistantly sounding alarms and the newest versions of Butler are aware of DB5 alerts.
