how do i view folders on my treo? the ones on my IMAP server.
  2. #2
You need to use "New Mailbox" and point it at the folder; this isn't automatic.

but i can't view what is in folders on treo

As I said earlier, for each folder you want to view on the Treo, you need to use "New Mailbox" to create the "mirrored" version on the Treo.

Yes. You've set up the boxes you want like I said earlier?

Once set up, you should be able to navigate over to the drop down menu and find the box. It should look like a directory structure, your Main account box, and underneath any extra boxes for the account, as well as any SMTP profile.

It sounds like g550guy hasn't set up subfolders using "New Mailbox"; in that case, they won't appear in the drop down menu - those are mailboxes on the Treo (which are NOT the same as folders on the server).

i must be missing something as i tried that but i ended up with two mailboxes. i want one mailbox. do i have to delete the one i have and start over?
  14. #14
I don't understand what you mean when you say you want one mailbox. You need a mailbox for each folder you want to view. This is all explained in the user manual.

I'm not sure I understand what he's doing either...

But I'll repeat what I said in the other thread:

Here, I'm using a fastmail account, and I want to add my gmail folder, so..
First go to Edit Mailbox and Reload Folder List.

After that, you'll have to manually add the folders. From the Menu, select New Mailbox.

On the bottom, you'll see Complete Server Folder Name.
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/jc120/TC/2.jpg

If you highlight, or tap the down arrow, you'll find your
folders. (Don't forget to name the box, it doesn't have to have the same name as the folder...)

Select the folder you want to add, in this example, I want the "gmail" folder
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/jc120/TC/4.jpg

Click OK and you're set. You'll have to go online with your new box to retrieve anything from the folder.

ok, i have read the manual. I did what insertion initially recommended. I can move emails to any of the folders on the server using my treo. I cannot view those emails once i move them, using my treo. that's all-- just wanted to retrieve them, after i move them. thanks for your patience.

g550guy - Do what Insertion said in his post above with the screenshots.

Ohhh...light bulb goes on!--- i have to make a mailbox for each and every folder and rename the mailbox to what the folder is named so it matches the server. thank you both

Well, almost! The NAME of the Mailbox (i.e. in the drop-down list) can be anything you want. But the "Complete Server Folder Name" is picked from the list of folders on the server. Glad it's coming together!
