Talked with a palm employee today and they announced that a new firmware ver. 1.17 was coming out for the treo 650. NOT to be confused with the 1.17 out for the 600.

    It will address:
    -constant rebooting
    -Motorola BT compatability
    -BMW car kit compatability
and some other things... These were the things I am having problems with so I remember them best. Unfortunately this is all I know.

actually they said it was already released, so I went to the suport site looking for it. I don't know how long it will be... Very frustrating too.

Constant rebooting!? Only see this is bad software is installed.. Maybe a workaround to detect a reset loop, but I doubt it.

If it's 1.17, that'd be the ROM software version; the firmware would be something greater than 1.31. You've probably transposed the digits; the unbranded GSM firmware being tested now is 1.71.

It's supposed to do memory management better, so you either don't run out of DBCache as quickly or it handles it more gracefully when you do.

Anyway, many of us get resets, not becuase of unstable software, but because there's not enough DBCache to go around. Hopefully the new firmware will help.
