Laptop Fried.... No Palm Desktop Data.

Second Computer tech is trying to recover Palm Data from the Hard Drive, First tech had no luck.

Treo 650 works fine, but is in need of a Hotsync (It's been about three or four weeks now!).

I use BackupMan AND Backup Buddy so I have several Checkpointed backups to pull data from if my phone resets (but only on my Treo)...

The problem (and the reason I haven't hotsync'd in so long) is that no matter what backup file I use, I cannot get my Treo to Sync with my desktop. (No Laptop Backup disc can be found - moved recently too - life just sucks all at once)

Have been trying to sync to fresh new laptop, but Hotsync stalls on calendar (syncs Docs to go, etc, then stalls on calendar).... When I say 'stalls', I mean the blue and red arrows are flying back-and-forth, but it stays that way ON CALENDAR for hours, with no progress (I have tried this several times over the last several days)

It stalls at Calendar, I tried hard resetting, then hardresetting and restoring from SD (Backup), then restoring only the contacts file (since this is my most important file), and still the hotsync 'stalls', but this time at Contacts (calendar with nothing on it syncs through). Then Hardresetting and syncing (with no data on my Treo - which completes, but kinda defeats the purpose)

It's clear something or several things are corrupt(ed).... I guess.

Any ideas how to get my data from my Treo back to my desktop other than the 'normal' way, which I've tried.??

Any help would be great. I'm not dying, my Treo works fine, and that data is backed up, but not having info synced to desktop/oulook/etc, is frustrating.... and worrisome that I have no way to retrieve this data beyond the Treo I have.... eventually I'm gonna freak if I cannot upgrade my phone, and bring my data along, etc.

If this explanation is too convoluted, just get me to specifics one at a time.... I just need some help, and I'm not sure I've done a good job explaining my dilemma.

    Thanks Much!

Follow these dirctions, but change the action of your PIM conduits to "Handheld overwrites desktop" before you Hotsync.
