I just added a contact, "Sonya." When I hit "Done" the phone immediately reset. Now, whenever I enter "son" in the phone screen and it goes to that area in the phone I get a reset. I then hard reset and restored. I then went into Contacts and scrolled down....all is well.....then I get to "S," immediate reset...everytime!

    Any ideas?

    After ##377# it reads,

    ".......'Contacts':
    MemoryMgr.c,
    Line:3807, Invalid Handle"

Thanks Tem. I ran it and it said "Looks OK...." and "As it should be." I also have been having a problem with my calendar not syncing correctly. When I encounter this I set my Desktop to overwrite handheld and the problem returns (this has just started to happen this week). DBScan has been identifying the problem..... I don't know what's up....

How about going Tools>Options>Tools, check and repair corrupt records, on the palm desktop.

    I sync with Outlook.

I use it regularly to scan my databases. It has been finding errors in my calendar lately but I have had my desktop overwrite the Treo. I really don't know how to use the other funcionalities embodied in this app...

Maybe your saved preference file is corrupt. Had you looked at that one?

No, what should I do with it?

Thanks for your continued help, by the way...

Move it to the card for storage. The palm will create a fresh new on on internal. Then wait and test stuff out to see if the problem is still there. If it is not, then reenter all your registration codes and reconfigure all your applications. If the problem is still there then move the file from the card back to internal.

    Then we'll take another guess

It didn't correct the problem...and when I tried to move it back using ZLauncher it asks if I want to overwrite the file in the card....yes....then it says, "At the end of the file. (VFS 2A07)"

You can just use the regular built in launcher to copy from the card to the phone. It should ask "do you want to overwrite the internal", not card, Was that a typo?

How about overwriting the contacts DB from a backup? If not, heres my prerecorded spiel for solving glitches. Ignore the verichat part. http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...41&postcount=6

Yes, it was a typo. I was able to do a restore after a hard reset. I then repeated what you said and used FileZ to move the preferences. It still didn't work.

I guess I'll have to try following the instructions you linked. It doesn't seem like fun...

Yeah, I got to wait until I get to work....that's the computer I sync with. The only problem is, none of my contacts or calendar events sync with the PalmDesktop. I have everything set for Outlook. But the other weird thing is- only a few (~5 out of over 200 contacts) actually show up in a Contacts list in Outlook. Where are my synced contacts??!!

I have narrowed down the tangible culprit to one of six contacts left in the "Unfiled" folder. And one of those contacts has an SD card-looking icon at the right of the number (it's a blue card icon with a gold wafer-looking chip in the middle)....I've never seen that before...

That means it's in your SIM phonebook; menu->options->preferences, uncheck "Show SIM phonebook" if you'd rather not see it.

I don't see "SIM" anywhere.... I'm on the Sprint network. I have no idea what's going on (I guess that shouldn't be a surprise!! )

Well, that's what that symbol means...I'll bet that's your bad record.

Any ideas on how to remove this without a five hour headache?
