You guys are missing the real value of the Foleo.

It means that the new Linux based OS is close.

frozen001 hits it on the head... outside of a few linux nuts, people could really care less about the OS... they want the device (any device) to work as advertised. Business users need their connections, and us tech nuts want everything and the kitchen sink put in it... and then we expect great battery life.

When I hear linux, I think drivers... I want to print, I want this thing to do what a laptop would do... if not, what is the real point? I can sync email with imap instantly... I can sync with a cheap laptop with all my contacts... if working on a document, I can sync those as well. Plus, with a line into the treo from my laptop, I can charge the battery... with BT I'd better have a fully charged treo... not to mention trying to keep the battery on the feelo charged....

Personally, I think this was a bomb... unless there is something in the works that we don't know about... but, at this point, I don't think there is anything... the ship has left the dock, and most of us are wondering what happened.

The treo line has a strong following simply because NO ONE else has developed anything to really steal the thunder in the touch-screen catagory... and launched on sprint and verizon. I don't get good recp with att where I'm at, so iphone is a no go... plus, the battery life has me worried.

The entire linux thing has me worried anyway... I hope they can pull it off... I'm not so sure though.... I am keeping my toes crossed.... lol

With all the stability and multitasking problems of POS, having a Linux OS should solve those problems and put it on par with OSX.

Also Hawk bragged how easy it was for DataViz to port to the new OS. That is also good news for developers and users.

Linux is a huge deal for Treos. A stable, mutli-tasking, open-source OS in a form factor we can appreciate - and, as a bonus. a significant percentage of Palm progams will still work.

What's not too like? Of course, it is not really the OS that is important, but the capabilities it brings to the table. That's why the use of Linux by Palm is indeed a very big deal.
