Top Ten Reasons that the Foleo Presentation Foreshadows Disaster
    10. The name just sounds too much like Fool-eo, Folly-o and Floppy-o.
    9. It syncs attachments in email but doesn't sync Office documents residing in Treo memory. Wouldn't editing Office documents be one of the only useful features?
    8. Some of the major features Jeff bragged about were the revolutionary breakthroughs of the, "scroll wheel", "instant on", and cool ribs on the clamshell.
    7. There was no reply when it was asked what type of processor and memory was packaged.
    6. Jeffs says that one of the few applications included - the Photo application - was just thrown together by a Palm engineer a few weeks ago that they decided to include.
    5. Jeff mentions future support for Apple. For the mere combined $1100+ total of having an iPhone + Foleo, you will still have no PIM capability lest more money spent on a third party application. This was after he had mentioned earlier that the original Palm Pilot started with PIM.
    4. After Paul details everything that it syncs - email, contacts and photos - he says something along the lines, "And that's pretty much all it does."
    3. The standard Palm logo was not seen after a standard Palm reset.
    2. Jeff states that the web browser is not useful for playing video and goes onto say something like, "I wish we had thrown a better processor in it."
    1. What kind of person describes his favorite website as being some kind of comic strip porn? The same that would design something like a Foleo.

    Very funny.
    Pilot 5K->Palm IIIc->Tungsten T/T2->Treo 650/680 -> Pre+ (1.4.5 & Uberkernel)

    WRONG!
Very tragic, because it is so true. What's the old saying, "The bigger they are the harder they fall." coming to life before our eyes.
Remember, the "P" in PDA stands for personal.
If it works for you, it is "P"erfect.

Sorry - I agree with you. Palm was once the towering giant in the handheld, then converged devie universe. Now they are nosediving to the bottom.

This thing reminds me of this really cool Vaio we had in the office for a long time. It was really small, had a great widescreen and a VGA camera. It kicked **** when it came out be we all had our own laptops so no one used it. Last year I started playing around with it to see if I could find something useful to do with it.

The widescreen would've made it perfect as an AVI player but the processor/memory just couldn't handle it. Then I tried to make it a MAME machine and the same thing happened as it could handle maybe one or two games. The only thing that I found it could hande was playing MP3's, email, Office '97 and web browsing if I had an ethernet connection. Ultimately I used it to edit my fantasy football Excel sheet but only because I did it on the beach and considered it expendable. Then I tossed it back into the closet never to be used again.

Despite the perfect form factor, I didn't even bother to try buying a USB WIFI adapter because it was just not worth the aggravation for only having email, browsing, Office documents and MP3's. It still does more than the Foleo though!
