I might buy it for less than $200. Not a single person has convinced me that this is worth what they are charging now. I have interest but at that price point, I'd just buy a laptop.

Id buy it at $dollars in a second. This thing has wi-fi, bluetooth, and linux. I think givin the lukewarm reactions this thing will go down to 500 with a mail in rebate getting it to you for 400.

You need to add two more choices to the poll:

    3. Would you pay $200 not to be forced to use the Foleo?

    4. Would you use the Foleo if you were paid $200?

the only reason i would pay anywhere near the asking price of the foleo is if it had a touchscreen/tablet digitizer... i've been looking for a tablet but i can't get rid of a 14'' high performance laptop for every day use...
if this thing had a touchscreen and stayed below $500, i'd jump on it
    Treo 800w 8/08
    Nokia N800

You just get the feeling that any number of companies are ready to drop those sorts of devices on the market at a very similar price to the Foleo.

I would buy it at a 100 bucks, with no rebates.

Yup - someone has to buy it to list it.

I've answered Yes, but this is a qualified answer being subject to:
    a) including all PIM functions,
    b) syncing with non treo devices (i.e. BlackBerry), and
    c) includes video
Palm IIIx > m505 > Tungsten T > T5 > Red BlackBerry Pearl 8110 (only device work IT will allow!)

I can see a market for this but basically it's just a LCD with keyboard and minimum processing power and storage. I'm not an expert, but it seems that cost wise from a production stand point it should cost no more than a portable DVD player.

I think $179 is the most they should ask for such a dependent device. At $500-$600, why not get a laptop? Sure a laptop is bigger and heavier, but the additional few hundred dollars go a long way compared to what you're getting here feature wise... you can't even play MP3s or Videos. Many websites are using Flash and video. I even don't expect the Foleo to be a half decent web browser. So essentially it's just a keyboard for emails. I can buy a fold up keyboard for my Treo and save a bundle.

I think Palm really missed the boat on this one. They should have been putting their efforts into developing a device to compete with the iPhone. sigh...

I'd pay about 50 cents for it, seriously.

Seeing the new sub notebooks coming out I don't see how the can't bring the price of this product down by the time of release. Does any one know how much the HTC Shift will be going for?

If this was 300 dollars I'd probably buy it. If I didn't have to use a Treo with it.

ASUS EEE PC 701 is the way to go.

Yes the ASUS EEE PC with Windows XP is what I'm going for. I wasn't in the market for a laptop but after seeing this ASUS model and below $300 price, I am now!
