BBC News - Samsung Ativ Q tablet runs both Windows 8 and Android

sooooo samsung yet again the one to make the first move into what seems like common sense for many avid tekkie geeks, hope this at least paves the way for LG or others to dual/tripleboot different OS, at least we already know how useful that can be with the touchpad nativly supporting Android/webOS/Ubuntu.

Could be a good sign given that the "competition" allround will try and match or beat samsung now they have innovated the next best step in a proper commercial way.

Excellent development! ..but couldn't they pick a better name? Ativ Q sounds like some kind of medication

suppose there has to be 1 downside to every good idea out there, in this case, the name.

I don't know if it is correct, but one of the comments on that story was that android ran in a virtual env and not via dual boot.

Just wanted to point out that Samsung wasn't first. The second paragraph in that article says that Asus announced it's Hybrid Tablet over 2 weeks prior to samsung. (Fortnight)

Though Asus' go at it is definitely more advanced (though I'm guessing a lot more expensive.)

Still waiting for a modern HD2. (ran WM 6.5 originally, not sports the ability to run Windows RT, Windows Phone 7, 8, Android 2, 4, Firefox OS, Meego I think, not sure on that one, Ubuntu, etc.)
