Of all of the dozens of mobile games I have tried recently, Galaxy on Fire 2 is my favorite. I am up to 12 hours playing the game and have zero interest in slowing down. That kind of inspiration is how (and why) this game can justify a lofty, for iTunes, $9.99 price tag (few mobile games cost more than $2.99). Galaxy on Fire is a space exploration game ŗ la the old classic Elite. You start out as a green pilot in a small ship and can explore the galaxy while fighting and trading. There is a storyline, but you can always just strike off into the cosmos to find your fortune, including rare and exotic spaceship gear. You upgrade your ship and can take on fiercer foes, all while keeping your eyes out for a good trade route. And did I mention that the dogfights are in 3-D? You can hold the iPad and tilt up and down and left and right to control your ship, firing off lasers and dropping EMP bombs. I honestly didnít think mobile games had become this accomplished.
