I believe the three CEOs (like the Three Amigos, only more wealthy!) mentioned there were over 18,000 third party apps available for PPCs. Seems like an optimisitc count to me.

A quick trip to Handango reveals a total of 14351 Windows Mobile titles available just from them. Obviously not all of them will work with a) WM5 or b) WM5 Phone Edition. Also obviously not all Palm apps (only 12193 at Handango, BTW) work with a) PalmOS 5 or b) the Treo 650 & NVFS.

I use both WM and Palm and the software issue is mostly a wash.

OK, so there's way more useless old software for the Palm.

At any rate, I guess the 18,000 number was accurate.

Anyone interested.. A friend of mine got 2 6700's in the mail. After talking it over with sprint he would rather sell it first online then send back to Sprint and go thru getting it credited back hassle (Has a bad experience with a phone he was trying out). If interested email me. Im a verified paypal customer.

PPC 6700 by the way is brand new and never even taken out of box. Paid $629. If no one wants then he will send back.

The PPC-6700 gets a very solid review over at GigaOm:

But there was no mention of email, Sms, or even very simply, quality of the phone, speaker phone, conference calling....

As a matter of fact there wasnt much mention of any of the things that i would be interested in knowing, besides the fact that it connects to the internet with fast speeds and a block away.

    This is no review.
