Ok, the 'Q' definitely looks like it is the one!

It does look nice. If they can price it right, it may be a great product. Competition can only be good. It will be very interesting if Palm releases a Wince Treo around the same time.

Here's the Motorola Q. Let's argue back and forth about how it compares with the Treo!

I still think it looks just a little too wide for my taste (but I like the better camera.)

This is actually the first unit I've seen that's made me even consider jumping ship.

I don't know, 2/10th of an inch and less than half as thick, still worth looking into.

Q1 2006 is a loooong ways off. That said, it does look sweet. Too bad it's Windows.

Oh don't get me wrong...I still havent jumped onto the 650 bandwagon... but (for me) being thinner makes it a little less comfortable in the palm of my hand.

Yes, I was one of many waiting for the MPx to hit the USA. It looks good, but after waiting two years for the MPx, I will believe it when I see it in my hands at the Cingular store.

    The keys ARE NOT FLUSH.

    From Phone Scoop.com
"The keyboard has EL backlighting like the RAZR, however it features raised individual keys."

Also if you go on hellomoto.com and click on the flash animation of the Q, you can see that it's individually raised.

Only gripe I have about it... no touch screen.

You're right about the keys but on the touchscreen part...the treo has gotten me used to not touching it.

Hopefully this link will work for everyone. (sorry mobile users...it uses flash).

If this is released in a reasonable period of time (and announcing it 9 months ahead of time is a stretch of reasonableness) it might have a chance. The problem is Palm will release a new treo in the interim, and unlike Moto, they have a reputation for actually hitting release targets. Plus, they have numerous semi and 100% successful phones under their belt.

Who knows, maybe this lights a fire under Palm.
