I have searched here and other sites as well as the web, I am just looking for a good comparison and maybe someone that had both, or just some thoughts from other techie type people. I have a Treo 650, which I love, but I need something that gives me unlimited text, that is huge for me. I do around 6000 a month. I have an OGO now, but I have looked into the SK2 cause the price as far as the plan is similar, I would have to buy the device but thats minor. I am just wondering if anyone out there has had both and can give some ideas on if I should keep the OGO or go SK2. Thanks in advance to any opinions

The Sidekick is definitely more capable and I recommend it over the OGO easily...but I'm under the impression that you have to use the Sidekick with T-Mobile.

the sidekick 2 is very capable at what it does....email, chat, and phone....
not the best web browser, not the best pda, but will do those with some degree of success.
to answer ur question, the ogo is a toy compared to the sk2.
my problem with sidekick is that it is exclusive to tmobile, and me and tmobile dont play nice.

I broke down and got the sk2, it is very nice. The web browser isn't to bad actually. I am typing my response on there as we speak. I can actually get to just about every web page I want, except for Howard Forums. Text and I'm are great. I did the pay as you go, cause of some personal issues, but its still great, don't regret it at all. I would recommend it to anyone.

I ended up taking it back, I found out how to get to Howard Forums after I took it back, but the reason I took it back is there is a bug with the AIM application. I guess for some reason if someone is on a wireless device logged into AIM they can't send messages to the SK2. I had no problem with Verichat on the Treo, but like the OGO cause a lot of my friends have on, it wouldn't work. The work around was to leave AIM open on your computer all the time and do IM Forwarding, but that isn't the reason I bought the device, and unforunatly most of the people that have OGO's can't afford to go out and just drop the $400 I did for the prepaid setup. So I will just stick with my OGO, between it and my 650 I guess I am actually getting the best of both worlds!

    hey iramike,
my friend is deaf and she uses the sk2 exclusively for email and chat. she has no problems with aim whatsoever....her and i chat from my treo all the time, and she chats with many other people on wireless devices too....

This issue I was having was friends with Cingular OGO's and friends who use AIM on their cell phone, for some reason those friends were unable to send me messages. I could message them without any problems but they couldn't send me anything. I think I might end up going back to the Sidekick though, even though I have already returned it. The three people that it is a big deal to talk to on AOL that have OGO's all three of them are starting to go bad all of the sudden, mine included. They have constant resets and sometimes messages do not go through at all then all of the sudden several hours later, the messages just pop up sometimes to the tune of 20 or 30 old messages. So, wish I had just kept my sidekick when I had it.

The ogo beat the sidekick for what it does, and for the price. Now that sprinpt is charging 15 a month for unlimited Text messages, I purchased a Ogo. Now for 17.99 I get unlimited text messages, unlimited dedicated Yahoo instant messenger, plus free yahoo pop email, and 5 other pop email account. Plus you can buy them off of ebay for least then $50 bucks.

People keep trying to compare the ogo to a cell phone, but a ogo is a mobile data device. It's like comparing a Treo to a ipod.

for unlimited text, Im, and Email, go for the ogo. The sidekick is great, but it's fadest, but the ogo is functional

Believe it or not I actually ended up getting an SK2 again, my girlfriend who now works for T-Mobile swayed me over. I must say now that I got the 2.3 OS update, this thing is great. I can do Howard Forums perfectly, that bug I was talking about in AIM doesn't seem to be anymore, the ogo friends I had, now either have an SK2 or actually one still has their ogo and I talk to him all the time. I really like the SK2 and after the intial purchase of the device, the minor increase of 10 bucks a month for service is worth the web, games, and calender, and all the other fun apps. Just wish I had MSN now, I guess that is what my HP 6515 is for
